Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If you feed Sass canned food, you might be able to spread some of the canned food into a baking pan and bake or dry it in the oven, then cut it up into little chunks to use as training treats.

Oh my jesus, can you imagine the smell?

Sorry. I mean, I'm sure it works, but I just full-body shuddered right about out of my chair.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The team captain is a great kid, but he's quiet. He needs to get comfortable in his own skin, which is tough for a 14 year old, and have a players only meeting that means something.

Emmett is not the quiet type, but last year when he was the best player on our regular season team I asked him to be a mentor for the younger players. And that really added a lot to the team's character. He went out of his way to sit with the younger kids when they were crying or frustrated and just pat them on the shoulder. So, there are quieter forms of leadership too. And I don't think Emmett would have done it if I hadn't nudged him that way, but it really brought out a good side of him.

Oh! Hec! I'm in a Change My Hair mood

OH! Hec! I meant to mention that having waited too long since my last cut...months and months and months...I had fun with an exacto knife the other night. It really was amusing and the outcome was not nearly as bad as one might imagine. In the end, however, I just couldn't manage the back so I went to a new hair person for a fix-up.

I took the photo of the cut you recommended last time, and bless her, the cutter hipped me to the horror that is my cow-lick farm of a head. She did, however, do a quite good job of adapting that design to my issues.

So now, I have a nice new cut and am using the short hair goop Toddson gave me.

The only downside is that when I went to henna my hair yesterday, I dropped the bowl on my beige office carpet. Blergh. After Natures Miracle and Shot Spot, the area is still plenty green. Not sure what other spot remover might work.

Mostly lurking...

This is not a binary choice. It is for perfectionists, but that leads to Stress Or Failure situations.

Just as there is Good Enough parenting, there is also Good Enough vw bug. (I almost said "Good Enough Buggery" - but really that's not a place where you want to lower your standards.)

You're right. It's not, but it is something I have to consider. It's a dialectic, I guess.

And I do cling to the Good Enough theory. Quite a bit actually. My therapist and family are quite familiar with it. I think this time around I got stuck in how this is just a reoccurring pattern rather than being able to see it as just this situation.

Ok. I'm off to get pricked. Thanks, guys.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh my jesus, can you imagine the smell?

I think I may be spoiled by buying cat food with high quality ingredients. Some of this stuff actually smells like food. But since Sass gets kibble now, maybe the easiest thing to do is it to use bits of kibble for training treats. No muss, no fuss, no bother.

Now tagless for your comfort.

(((vw)))

How wee is Liv? She just crawled completely into the cat's carrier. Owen shut the door on her and tried to carry her down the hall.

15 minute countdown to getting ready to leave for preschool.
