vw - Emeline's class has a severe nut allergy so snacks are typically** jello and juice.

I’m also having a hard time figuring out when to push myself and when to give in.
This is not a binary choice. It is for perfectionists, but that leads to Stress Or Failure situations.
Just as there is Good Enough parenting, there is also Good Enough vw bug. (I almost said "Good Enough Buggery" - but really that's not a place where you want to lower your standards.)

Actively recruit two new players who are better than almost everybody else on the team and are both easygoing and cheerful.
Not possible. Rosters are locked on December 31st. Players can drop, but no one new can be added. Besides, this is an A team. The better players are all at the AA or AAA level. The team captain is a great kid, but he's quiet. He needs to get comfortable in his own skin, which is tough for a 14 year old, and have a players only meeting that means something.
