[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

not your mom's socks.

Man, I have almost no paid work today. It's depressing.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oooh, flowers. We have some really nice places around here that do flowers and plants and all kinds of nifty stuff that they produce themselves.

Do you have a local Craigslist?
Yes, and freecycle too. If I go that way, can I zap the drive with a magnet or something, just in case anything survived?

Also, is the HDD deaddeaddead or could one of us try recovering it for you?

I would LOVE that, but I see two potential problems.

The spry fellow at the Apple store cautioned at length against opening up this particular model because of the potential for residual charge. So getting the HD out could be of the danger.

They hooked the eMac up to one of their external hard drives and could not get anything at all off of it in the store. The fellow shook his head sympathetically and said that it would take a lot of time to suck the binaries off the drive and, even then, there was no guarantee that any of them would line up into useable documents.

I took that to mean deaddeaddead. Am I right?

Oooh, or I could make her a necklace with some of the tumbled stones I've collected.

Jeez women, we need to form a club or something and turn this economic boat around! I'm pretty sick of this feeling.

Hey, seriously, maybe we could put together a referral tree. I know people, you know people, we could support each other!

Maybe an online Mastermind group! I'd be totally up for coordinating that.

What a lovely idea!

And I'm all UP in the ire about diamonds and flowers. My Valentine's Day rant...as a former florist...peels paint off the walls.

The short form is, Friday will be NAG. National Acrimony and Guilt day...for all the folks who didn't express their 'love' 'correctly'. Makes my blood boil.

Relationships strained and even ruined by corporate borne expectations and institutionalized disappointment. It's all so sad.

Not to mention the wallet rape that is long stem red roses. Pretty, yes. Precious, no. Gassed within an inch of their lives to force growing so they end up dying 3 times faster AND costing 3 times more for 'premium' rates.

This, and wedding/funeral practices are pretty much at the top of the list for why I'm not still in that business.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Also making people not in relationships feel like lepers who will never find love.

I will be in Florida with Tom and my grandmother on Valentine's Day. I will maybe get her a card, if I can get to a card-selling place. Tom and I don't do Valentine's Day. President's Day though... *there's* a holiday!

Leaving for Florida today OMG I am so very excited, because it is so, so very cold and wintry mix is moving in tonight. Some ~ma that we are out of the area by the time that starts would be most appreciated!
