Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

I kind of have to own this: Pop Up Books of Phobias.

Well, damn. My prof *still* hasn't assigned me to a group for the assignment that is due online at 6pm today. And, no one has posted their work yet, so I have no idea how much work I should even put into this thing.

I was actually looking forward to this assignment, but now I'm just stressed about getting it done before I go to work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

FYI: If you enter Powell's books through this link and then search for the book, we get affiliate money.

Ok. A few people have posted the assignment due today. I know I'm an overachiever, but people, two sentences? We're supposed to be re-writing a Bible story from the woman's point of view. Some aren't even re-writing the story, they're just saying, "This isn't ______'s point of view, because..."

I think it's a really good thing that I usually just don't see other people's work. And, maybe I'm beginning to understand why I get as good of grades as I do...

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

What about the coronations were you wondering, if you still want me to delve into my brian. Which, I have to warn you , is not firing on all systems yet.

One detail that's worrying me is whether there's a specific day of the week where coronations are supposed to happen (or not happen). I really want the one in my book on a Tuesday, and if it has to be on a Sunday, the timing of that section of the story will be absolutely shot to hell, and I'll have to completely rework the lead-in.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Queen Elizabeth (current) was coronated on a Tuesday, so you should be good. It doesn't have to be any particular day of the week.

Thrive to spite them

My kitty is free fed so there's generally only howling when it gets empty.

However, she's taken carrying her sock toy around and yowling like she's about to die and won't stop until I come and pick her up. I think she's still jealous of McKay the Laptop.

I'm in the back office right now because my replacement is at my (i mean her) desk. This morning I introduced her to the phrase "nibbled to death by ducks" as the ducks were early risers today. i can't find some papers that were in my purse, I think they fell out at home. i got to work and my keyboard wasn't working, took me three tries to find one to work. The file cabinet broke and I'd given my keys to my coworker and realized this morning that they are safely locked in his file cabinet and of cours emy keys are in his locked filing cabinet in the locked office. Luckily I scrambled around and found keys. Then there was a circuit breaker out and I couldn't get power to anything.

Plus the machine is out of diet coke. That's like the final indiginity of the day. I'm currently suffering with real coke.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My car wouldn't start this morning. Gah, not this again. I changed the fuel pump last year! It can't be that! Everything else is not supposed to be failing already! I got it to start after a few tries, but I hate living on edge like this, wondering if it's going to start each time I try now.

I've been considering buying a new (well, new used, probably) car. My parents want me to anyway, and I wouldn't mind having something better. Any suggestions?

Have you got a Carmax out there? They were really easy to deal with when I got my (nearly new but used) car a few years back. There are some very reasonable new car options these days. Friends of mine have gotten Nissan Versas, Honda Fits, and Toyota Yaris in the last couple of months and they are all happy with their choices.
