happy birthday laga!
and glad joe made it home.
today feels productive, even though I have caused chaos. yesterday we fixed a falling down fence ( yay ! I feel like i can no longer claim the white trash title) and I did some gardening while DH did some cleaning in the garage.Today we got the blackboard paint up on the cupboard doors. ( we have had the paint since this summer). And I went the the computer junk and put all the cables in flatter boxes ( easier to dig out, less tangle)
I'm such a sap.
I'm watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition, because there's a chance my hostess in St. Thomas might be on it. Tonight's family went on a yacht cruise to the US Virgin Islands. They were stopped at St. John on the wife's birthday, and the gallery where Edie sells most of her work threw a big birthday party for her. A bunch of the artists gave them pieces of artwork for the house, and Edie was one of those people.
But, oh, these shows just kill me. Such a sap.
Ooh, let us know how the blackboard paint works out. The SO is thinking about painting a section of his studio with it.
Yay for Joe being home with the family!
OMG! They're at Magen's Bay (or they were)! And there was footage of them doing SeaTrek at Coral World! So cool!
Happy Birthday laga!!
I can't imagine what you think I might say.
I can...
I'm nothing but nice.
You CAN be nice; however, I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that statement. I would have snorted soda out of my nose!
I need to find blackboard paint in my area to paint part of my competition set with. Home Depot didn't have it.
Happy Birthday, Laga!
I've been wanting to text/call you all day, but I left my phone at home. Doh!
Second Lifers (askye, and I don't remember who else): I do plan on joining, but it looks like I'll need to either do it at my friend's house or wait until I get high speed. I probably won't get high speed until I know for sure whether we're striking or not, as I don't want to increase my bills when my income may be dropping dramatically soon. Soooo, I'll touch back when I start!
I hope you've had a wonderful birthday, Laga, and that it's the start of the best year yet!
I just discovered a new TV station here, 360 North, from my local PBS station. It seems to be focused on Alaska stuff and Alaska Native stuff. They just showed a show on NorthWest Indian news, which focused mostly on a big canoe trip and a bit on a suicide horse race. The canoe trip was really cool. I especially liked the shot of all of these canoes (there were probably 30 or more canoes, each seating maybe 8-12 rowers) coming in to the shore. It was really impressive.
It reminded me a lot of the canoe races here during Celebration. Sometimes I actually thought that they had footage from Celebration, but it's just really similar. I know that southeast Alaska is traditionally more connected to the Northwest coast of Canada and Washington state than to the rest of Alaska, but this really brought it home.
I wonder if I can get this in broadcast. It might make the choice of whether or not to keep cable either easier or harder.
