Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The skater/dancer Em pictures are lethal with the cute.

omnis, I'm glad you're home. It sounds like it was excruciating. Much smooth and calm proper behavior~ma to your innards, so you never have to go through that again.

Frisco is currently wearing one of Noah's hats!

I love this. It makes me love us.

Every time I see a picture of another Buffista baby wearing one of Matilda's old outfits (or any baby, really--one of my local friends sent out a holiday card with a picture of her daughter in a stripey Hanna Andersen onesie that came from my brother-in-law's sister in Indiana), I am just incredibly chuffed.

I got rid of two huge bags of outgrown clothes yesterday. Ran into a young couple a few blocks from the hospital, spare-changing people for lunch money. Early twenties, black trench coats and stocking caps, everything faded to gray, generally looking two short steps ahead of homeless. They told me about their baby girl who'd been in the ICN for two weeks, being discharged today, and how they'd been at her side eating cafeteria food the whole time and this was their one day to see San Francisco, so they needed money for lunch. Which seemed very likely to be an elaborate spare-change story, but they did look hungry and tired, so I gave them a dollar. And then, on impulse, I asked if they needed any baby clothes, and their faces just lit up.

So yesterday afternoon Matilda and I lugged everything up to the ICN (with one of our many extra copies of Goodnight Moon). I still thought the chances of the story being just a story were about 50/50, but sure enough there was a Baby Girl Theirname preparing for discharge, with the parents out for a little while. The desk clerk got all amazed and delighted when I handed the bags to her; she didn't say anything, but I got the feeling she was worried about how they were going to get by once they left the hospital. But at least now they've got a bundle of receiving blankets and outfits from Olivia and Ellie and BIL's sister and various other peeps.

Matilda's very busy right now emptying out the blanket space under the bassinet. Good God, we've got a metric assload of no-longer-used baby blankets. I should've thrown some of those in too.

YAY cute new baby!

I love that story, JZ, and you for being that kind of person!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Adorable Em and Frisco pix. So sweet!

And Aimee, no response on this (posted earlier)? [link]

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Ellie is getting so big, and is clearly in to her little brother. And dang, Stephanie, you look wonderful, not at all like you just had a baby!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How lovely, Stephanie!

Lysana's in Second Life too.

I tried, but it didn't really grab me.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

(adoring JZ more than ever. if that were possible.)
