"Even if they already have a Boppy I'll need one here."
I see a grandma-zilla in the making.
For the last 15 years, I have spent New Year's Eve with my friend R, plus a rotating cast of characters loosely defined as "people who hang out with R." R is out of town dealing with demons of his own, but his absence has played merry hell with my tiny social life. Have I called up any of these other people and asked about New Year's? Hell, no. It just seemed too pathetic. I couldn't ask people over because I had to stay in Nashville so long and I knew I wouldn't have time to deal with the Christmas flotsam.
I do have an invitation tonight, and I've even gone so far as to throw together marinated mushrooms and artichokes to take, but it's at the house of someone I don't particularly like and it will be mostly people I don't know. I think this might make me feel worse than staying home, drinking prosecco and drunk posting. On the other hand, the New Year's Eve I spent having eight stitches in my hand I swore I would never spend New Year's Eve alone again.
I gotta get me a life.
Mom's still flush with the new love of being a Grandma, I think she was starting to believe it wouldn't happen and she really wanted to be one, but she wasn't going to pressure her kids to have kids. (which I'm very thankful for).
Dad just called, no power at his house. He doesn't know what's going on, but he's now going to come to my house for the game.
Which is a MESS! Huge mess that I let slide this weekend. Now I'm hoping that FSU starts doing really bad so he won't want to come over.
oh! I just realized I forgot to read Left Behind Friday.
It's pretty good. I posted a bit of it in Natter (wasn't sure if it was here or there where folks have talked about it).
if FSU sucks as badly* as I think they will
it has been a year full of suck for them. I haven't even bothered to turn on the game. (does that make me a bad alumni?) Instead I'm watching CSI and wearing a FSU School of Theatre shirt.
I need to start getting ready to go Tampa tonight.
I was about to post something and then I remembered that FSU is not Florida. Carry on.
If she Googles "natural baby clothes" she'll find tons of online outlets. Also, tiny/expensive baby boutique-type stores tend to carry more American and European-made stuff than the big box stores.
I think Hanna Anderson clothes are made in the US. I'd check some of our labels but they're in the laundry.
Dillo's new Hanna pants say "made in China," I noticed today. A lot of their cotton knit stuff is Peru.

I started unpacking and cleaning my room, then got distracted by putting up my new bookshelves that have been sitting around doing nothing for a while. They are pretty! I wish they held more books, but hey, at $10 each I can always buy more. Or other more practical ones, I suppose. But still. Cool!
