With the baby coming, I'd recently decided to sign up again for Netflix, but I hadn't updated my CC info so the account was on hold. It was Trudy's link that finally got me to update the info and add Torchwood to my queue.

If you hear a voice in the back of your mind saying "you really should back up your hard drive" LISTEN TO IT!! Seems Parallels/WinXP caused a serious FUBAR on my iMac. Grrrr. Sure, I heard the voice and did a full disk back up of my WORK machine.

Must get sleep to drive up the coast. Won't it be lovely to have a non functioning computer waiting for me when I get home in a few days?

Ok, Depp has melted me, which didn't take much since I was already ded from the Barrowman snogging. This thread should have a warning label!

Today my first born is 16. He and his friends have decided he is Salty 16, not Sweet 16. I have a house full of teen boys. They have a 4 day weekend so it has been Warcraft central here. I don't know where they get it from. All of them with laptops and headsets talking to each other via mics and the internet when they are sitting next to each other. Huh.

I'm at the Key West Literary Conference. It is tropical and sunny and quirky on this island, and I'm meeting people like Billy Collins and Judy Blume and new voices like Janna Levin (google her book A Madman Dreams of Turing Machines). Not only is she a stunningly brilliant theoretical physisist (cosmologist), she writes like Nabakov. She's also funny, articulate, and beautiful. She and James Gleik had a discussion about the nature of reality and truth last night that blew my mind.

I'm forgetting to mention 90% of the other authors right now, but needless to say, I'm in heaven.

Don't have my laptop and the phone is cumbersome, so I'm not on the board regularly until Monday, but wow.

One of these days I may just give up on city life and move to the Keys. Love it there so much. Make sure you go to the beach for the sunset festivities. Must show your appreciation to the sun so it comes back tomorrow.

Barrowman and his spouse are at ethereal levels of beauty. And I couldn't love Johnny Depp any more if I tried. And believe me, I have.
