Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

A lady in a brand new hummer just told me $8 is too much for a matinee movie ticket.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I can't offer any merchandise for the GF, GC, (hee) but I can offer next time we're on the West Coast, no matter when that may be, I will kill your cleaning crew.

It's even better if it takes awhile. No reason to connect you.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Hell yeah, MM! Kick some asses! Knock some heads!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Gosh. I'm being rustled too. I'll be on the lookout for the first mention of rebranding.

They're usually much nicer. DH got a really nice leather laptop case from the guy who found him the new job. I'm surprised you're surprised. A lot of actuaries here get a lot of headhunting calls once they make Fellow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Well, that's certainly something to look forward to.

This is the first time I've been headhunted, possibly because I've moved around a bit. (e.g. I got my Fellowship at the same time I started my non-actuarial position in Philly.) I don't yet know if I'm interested - I like the working conditions here, but I'm pretty sure I'm underpaid compared to what I could get elsewhere. Methinks I need to know more.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Verizon is NUTS! I was talking with my office mate about DSL. He's paying $20/month for 1.5Mbps. I'm paying $38 for the same. So after jumping through a ton of hoops, I finally talk to a live person, and (politely) complain that I'm paying nearly twice as much. So he explained the current packages, of which my config was not a part of. So apparently, at some time, they dropped it in favor of 3Mbps for $32! And yet at no time did they go "hey, you are paying too much, we're gonna LOWER your bill and DOUBLE your speed". Nope. I gotta find that out on my own. I'm still paying more than AT&T ($28 for their 3Mbps), but he did credit me a months worth of the $38. The down side is, it's a 1 year agreement.
