Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Man, I loves me some Cute Overload.
Just skipped about 1000 posts. Did I miss anything important? ~ma to all appropriate.
I was on a cruise with my family for the past week. Went to Old San Juan (mostly way touristy, but the fort was cool), St. Martin/Maarten (nice beaches, got to practice my French, less-touristy shops, and a cab driver who took us on totally convoluted routes to avoid letting us see poor people), and St. Thomas (Charlotte Amalie seemed to be entirely jewelry stores, but we only saw it for an hour or so, because most of the St. Thomas time was spent snorkeling -- saw a shipwreck and all kinds of neat fish.)
On the ship, spent time hanging out by the pool, swimming (did we know that swimming pools on cruise ships are filled with ocean water? I didn't until I jumped in and tasted salt rather than the chlorine I expected), climbing wall, and trivia contests. Another thing I hadn't really realized -- on cruise ships, people really dress for dinner. I wore sundresses most nights, and cocktail dresses on the two formal nights. And it's all formal service, with four courses and waiters who really know what they're doing -- our waiter said he'd been a cruise ship waiter for 11 years.
Also -- the areas around where ships dock in the Caribbean really need some more bookstores. Couldn't find any in Old San Juan. Found one in St. Martin, but it only sold French books. (Picked one up anyway, a kids version of the story of Sir Percival.) Finally found one English bookstore on St. Thomas. (BTW, on St. Thomas, everyone drives on the left side of the street, but practically everyone drives US-style cars with the steering wheel on the left. Odd.)
Works as a direct link for me.
Also on the cruise -- to judge by the repertoire of the band playing by the pool, there are actually only five reggae songs. The rest of the time they played "It Wasn't Me" and "Red Red Wine." Also, quite often, "My Dingaling."
The pictures of the baby polar bear are what get me. OMG SO CUTE. And even though it's not Knut, it makes me sing the little Knut the Eisbar song in my head.
They called the hybrid a "Zebdonk"? Why not a 'Zonkey'? or a 'Zebkey'?
Loved the thigh high look, though.
Definitely cute overload!
Um, which story would that be?
Of His Bone Are Coral Made. It had a lovely start, and I should be able to hear the whole thing tomorrow.
Um, does anyone know time and station for the Sarah Connor Chronicles?
I made what was probably the mistake of introducing Annabel to icanhascheezburger.com, because now every time I'm at the computer she's going to want the pictures of kitties. But, anyway, I showed her this one [link] and commented that the polar bear was about to run out of ice to sit on. She looked at me with some anxiety and said, "But he can swim to another ice, right?" I said that he could, but that there wasn't as much ice for the bears as there used to be because the world was getting warmer, and that we need to do what we can to help the bears. Which is probably enough global warming instruction for a kid of 3 3/4.
