Yes, that's the line, but it's like narrator perspective. But a line like
She wore hurt surprise
As she rechecked her makeup to protect herself
Dropped her price and pride
She made it totally plain that she was his for the night.
could be sung from her perspective
eta: from memory BTW
They're watchin' you
They see your every move
She wore hurt surprise
As she rechecked her makeup to protect herself
Dropped her price and pride
She made it totally plain that she was his for the night.
I only remember the last line there. I think I never made out the other three lines.
"Dropped her price"?
She's go-wa-wa-wa-wa--one Whoa-oh yeah, I'd pay the devil to replace her
"Dropped her price"?
yes, I think that the idea was that she was a prostitute, and when he turned her down, she got mad.
Plei, Vortex, did I ever mention that the first concert I ever went to was H&O? True story!
...well, actually, that's the whole story. I was barely 14 and the arena was a 10-minute drive from my house, so my mom dropped my BFF-at-the-time and me a few minutes early and picked us up promptly after. I was a very, very tame 14-year-old.
H&O made me think of Live Aid and that made me think of this ho-yaycious video which was made for it: [link]
I've got the Live Aid dvd set, and the one thing that stands out (for me, at least) is Queen. Freddie Mercury was a frickin' ROCK GOD.
