Squee! Happy family news! I just found out that my "little" cousin (she'll be 17 in the spring and is a junior in HS) is going to be able to graduate a year early, this May! Holy crap! And she's getting into a full scholarship program at Northern Arizona University, so no tuition or room/board because of her high GPA. After two years, she'll be able to transfer to the college of her dreams, wherever that may be.
I am SO PROUD! She's as close as I have to a little sister.
Excellent news, Kristin! Congratulate her for me. An ex-bf went to school at NAU. It was a kinda nifty school. Except for that freakish white stuff they kept around all winter.
Thanks! I'm positively giddy for her. We spent a fair amount of time talking about how done she was with high school when I was in AZ over Christmas, and I think our talk is partly the reason she pursued other options. Such a proud cousin!
Woot, woot Kristin - that is wonderful.
This thing where I can't get to sleep at night, therefore can't drag my ass out of bed the next morning? Blows. Got a dance class tonight, hopefully I'll wear myself out enough to crash.
This is me nearly every day.
Congrats to your cousin, Kristin!
hooray for graduating early!
Ok, so we scared ourselves silly last night. Actually, I = scared silly. DH = meh.
Since I'm still not one with the breathing, we've been using this Tron-like humidifier in our bedroom. Iris has the old trusty beige one that works like a charm in her room.
Tron cost something in the range of IDontCareMyWifeIsReallySick and has a lot of nobs on it. And makes weird spelunking noises. Last night, I woke up and the room is cloudy. I can't see my shoes that are in front of the closet door. I look out in the hall and there's white stuff swirling around the hall light.
break to inform the interwebs that housefire at night is a big bad boojum in soxville.
Turns out it wasn't immolation but that DH had used regular water instead of distilled-Tron-water. Which covered everything in our bedroom in a fine white mist. That is still OMGWTF everywhere.
The ring came! I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't look like the picture but for $11 and a good cause I'm not complaining.
That was supposed to be bigger bads, by the way.
Sophia-the-phone is occasionally too helpful.
This is me nearly every day.
How have you not killed anyone yet? (You haven't, right?)
Now we just have to find a comedy club that has open-mic night that's not in Downtown Los Angeles.
There's a couple/few clubs in San Diego, IJS.
Congrats on your cuz, KT. Sounds like a smartie (In the best way).
Sorry for the nighttime drama, Sox. Must have been scary. Glad it was nothing worse than bad special effects. There you go - take the lesson from this and have awesome Halloween effects next October.
