Thanks for the comments, too! I resisted blogging/lj for a long time, but figured this was a good way to keep some people like my mother informed about my training exploits without having to remember to write and email everyone everytime. Also, it's a good way to keep me accountable to myself.
Usually if we make sure the oil doesn't get too hot and we run the ventilation over the stove we do OK for the odor.
I can't help wondering if Pete, Jilli, Kristin and ND had something to do with this.

Well, you could always train on your regular bike and rent a fancy road bike for the Ride. That's what I'm planning to do! (My bike is a heavy ass mountain bike so I'm hoping that actually will work in my favor.)
It is a crazy fun event. If a little torturous.

Hahahahahahahaha! No, we had nothing to do with it. And you will all note that there were no news stories of someone moving in at the Haunted Mansion, which means you can safely assume my clever plans came to naught.
I've become one of THOSE people....
I now live with a catloaf.
And a big diva dog. The blanket was her idea. Seriously. I was holding it out to fold it, and she walked up and thrust her head forward and under it, so that it draped over her head like a veil. I laughed and shook it away to fold it, and she ran forward to stick her head under again. So I draped it over her, and she walked around like that for a long time, until she decided she was tired and needed to curl up in her bed. She's an odd dog, to say the least.
Hee! Lucy used to leap up on the bed when you were making it and hide under the sheets when they came down. So funny.
OMG! I made it home in a normal time frame! Like. OMG! Thank you Traffic Gods! Dunno how that happened, but I'm not complaining.
Evening, Buffistas! I have a coffee table! My drink and dinner are both resting on it right now, AIFG! The sofa table needs to be taken apart and put back together, though. But I am too lazy, right now.
Also, I have become obsessed with pot pie. Marie Callendar's gets nice and flaky in the microwave, shockingly. That makes me very happy. I had one Saturday night, and had to go buy more tonight.
I say it's "worth" $250 cause they don't give you cash. Instead, you get to expense $250 worth of a service (like a meal, spa visit, tickets). It has to be a service, too - nothing tangible
That's actually a pretty cool idea--I mean, I could see it not being cool if you really needed the $250, but I know if they gave me $250, I'd just put it in the bank, and the yay would be minimal. If I had to use it on an expensed service, though, I'd really do it up. Whee!
