Goodbye and Good Riddance 2007: Heaven's Just a Funky Moose

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2007? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Aww. Yay Kalshane!

And I'm very impressed by the Secret Santa gift. Shoot, I need to GET one. Crud.

My year has been pretty crazy, but mostly only the latter half of the year. The first half was generally pretty good, I think. And then I got laid off, turned 30, broke up with my girlfriend and moved to Seattle.

I'm still working on seeing the good in the last half of the year. I'm getting there sometimes.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

That's an awesome present Lee. Yay for Suzi pampering!

This has been a good year. There have been ups and downs, the arthritis is a bit worse, my insurance company sucks a lot, but I've been able to do something I never imagined and actually launch the press. In January we're adding a 'zine.

It's hard to believe I get to be creative, hang out with creative people, and do something really cool with my time. Maybe next year I'll even be paid for it. I've also gotten to do some good things that paid, like build a few websites. I've even gotten to create some art, and hopefully next week I'll have my first gallery show.

The kids are healthy, smart, and sassy. Greg's getting some attention for his website and having fun corresponding with some of his favorite authors.

I've missed out on a lot on the board, and I wish I could post half as much as I used to (which would balance nicely between being far too talkative and completely invisible) but I've been here when I could, sending vibes and celebrating victories.

I'm incredibly blessed, not least because of you guys.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Wow. That's the best Seekrit Santa gift ever!

I concur. That's fucking AWESOME.

t edit Hey, is that the nail salon we went to at the SF2F? The background looks familiar.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Am home and once again want to say thanks to Lee. Getting a break away from my life and not having to do or be or plan was utterly priceless.

Thank you.

eta - Yes, same nail salon as used for the SF-F2F.

And now you know the whole other reason game night made no sense (besides the fact that I'm still coughing like a heroine in a Dumas novel that is)!!

Glad you had so much fun.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Poor Megan. First we screwed up your game night, and then you got sick before I got a chance to ask you to join us (I was waiting until the plans got firmed up)

I hope you are feeling better at least.

I feel okay. I just have a really horrible sounding cough that has been keeping me up at night. So I'm tired, but otherwise have no other symptoms of anything. It's bizarre.

ETA: Now that I think of it, Lee, it's a good thing for you I don't practice 3 strikes and you're out!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It is!

I suck.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That is an awesome Seekrit Santa prezzie! Definitely something to be said for having a lot of localista types around. Who wants to move to Madison?

I'm not sure I'm ready to report on 2007. It was a year of always feeling on the edge of my seat and it's not really over, since I'm working contract type jobs right now. I feel a little in limbo. I'm afraid I'll jinx things if I prematurely say it was great/crappy. I will say I think I made the right decisions for me at this time in my life. It's been scary, it's still kinda scary, but we don't win anything, if we don't take a few chances.
