I just got the most wonderful card from Thailand. It has Santa and, um, water buffalo? I'm not sure what they are, but I just absolutely love the card, love it. Plus, Fay has the most beautiful handwriting. Thanks Fay!
Your card from Alaska is late, but should be waiting for you in Thailand when you get back.
Brenda, I'm amazed the package got there so early, but am I ever glad it did! Aren't Bissinger chocolates the best? I haven't tried the blueberry bark yet, but it did look yummy.
Also, erika rocks. I, too, managed to get a package on a day that was otherwise craptastic through and through. Thank you so very much, hon.
For those who are wondering, I received a cool silver pen, a weekly planner (in desperate need of one, actually) with a funky wrap cover that is held closed by the accompanying pen, and some gorgeous notecards with images of Van Gogh sunflowers and iris--perfect!
But sadly this means you won't be just up the street the next time I visit my brother.
But I will! Because the house we just bought is just up the street from where we were! Come visit my house and my puppy!
My Secret Santa gift is going out today! I'm so excited. I love doing Secret Santa gifts.
I wish I'd had the time and money to do one of the Seekrit Santas this year, but I just couldn't swing it. Next year, dammit.
I'd like to apologize in advance for the lateness of my Santa gift this year. I had all sorts of "buy and mail holiday gift" plans this weekend, which wound up completely derailed by the funeral. And DH's parents are coming up this weekend, so I may not have time to shop until closer to New Years...
::hugs Jessica::
I think you get a pass, sweetie.
Uh, yeah. Jessica definitely gets a pass.
I've got one more thing for Secret Santa-ing, and then it's off. Phew.
I want to do Secret Santa one year. My problem is usually not the shopping for the gift (I see shit I want to get for y'all all the time), it's the sticking it in the mail thing I have trouble with.
As for 2007? I don't even know what. I started the year down two close friends to one here. Lost my grandfather, quickly followed by my grandmother and then my uncle. Mr. Jane's teenage cousin committed suicide. I've become disillusioned with my do-gooder job, and that's just personal stuff.
On the other hand, I've made new friends-better friends. I've taken dream vacations and taken some time to really figure out who and what I am. I'm much happier, I think, than I was this time last year.
2007 consisted of:
- Terminally ill FiL
- Grad school (I'm halfway done, y'all!)
- Bathroom remodel (still in progress)
- Work (I survived 2 rounds of layoffs)
- New job and recent layoff from new job for GF
- Move to new office (I miss my office - open seating sucks)
- A few fun trips (SF, San Diego [Comic-Con!], Edisto Island, Atlanta)
A mixed bag. I have very low expectations for 2008 (see first bullet above), so maybe it'll surprise me.
