Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2007: Heaven's Just a Funky Moose

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2007? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I love the progression of the pictures, Sox. Let's us be in on the fun of unwrapping, yay!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Yes, I did make the ornament. I'm glad Iris likes her treat. Had to keep her from snitching yours.

Is it silly that I'm all bouncy now?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

::pouts::

Nobody told me the topic was open!

2007 was full of silver linings for me, like getting laid off after ten years but getting good severance and enough time to think about and investigate my options, and then finding out that I could take most of year to go to school and get some vital training in stuff I need and stuff I love. And taking the opportunity to travel to a couple places and have a great time.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Received in the mail today:

  • One homemade fruitcake
  • One bar of Scharffen Berger Bittersweet Fine Artisan Dark Chocolate
  • One copy of McSweeney's Mammoth Treasury of Thrilling Tales edited by Michael Chabon
  • One hardbound copy of Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain by Oliver Sacks.

I haven't yet eaten or read any of these yet (I shall report back when I do), but they look/smell great!

Thank you Consuela!

Now, to get off my butt and send out MY gifts!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yay, I'm glad they got there safely.

The fruitcake does have alcohol in it, as well as organic dried fruits (no sulfites), pecans and almonds. I do hope you enjoy--early reports are that it came out good. Also, the batter was awesome.

I do love Secret Santa-ing.

Librarian Warlord

heh. ayup. Sparky's fault.

Hey! I was working people!

Great pictures, Sox. Awesome gifting, Suzi!

2007 brought big changes. I accepted a job on the other side of the country, and the DH and I packed up 10 years worth of memories from Berkeley and moved them to D.C. in February. Instead of unpacking, we went to Paris. We began to enjoy living near enough to my cousin, Sox, not to mention my parents and one of my sisters and her family. We missed California a lot. After 30+ informational interviews with alumni from his undergrad and graduate school, my DH switch careers and landed a job in the field he wanted in June. In October we closed on our first house, spent November coordinating workmen and painters, and then moved (again!). That same weekend, we adopted a beagle puppy from a rescue organization, something I'd been waiting to do for 10 years.

Change is good, but I'm sort of hoping to enjoy 2008 without seeing another moving box.

not your mom's socks.

yay! yay! Box is away! Mile long line at the PO. And 1 person working behind three registers. Poor PO people. Their scheduler must be broken.
