Oh wow Cash I'm so sorry to hear that. One of those "couldn't wait until 9:30am on Saturday" things?

Lighters are ok now. Not that it stopped me when they weren't.
The liquid rule is so stupid.
Totally. Especially since enforcement is completely random depending on the airport.
I had a number of stocking stuffers that I "shouldn't" have had, but no way was I going to check my luggage just for that. And it must have been obvious on the xray machine that I had jars in my bags. But no one said anything.
I suppose "liquid mascara" means DiorShow, huh? And I bet gel or liquid eye liner will have to be put in the stupid quart bag.
Any kind of liquidy or gel make up has to go in the quart bag.
Toothpaste, lipgloss, mascara, etc.
The rules do suck, but the TSA person enforcing it doesn't have a choice. It's their job and they can get in serious trouble (or even lose their job) if they don't.
Also remember if you do try to sneak something through that is over the limit and get caught it will be thrown out if your baggage has already been checked. So make sure you are willing to risk throwing out something.

grrrr. Well, it's a good thing I was planning on going to the wacky Japanese dollar store tomorrow so I could stock up on small plastic containers. Do all the containers have to be 3oz. exactly, or can they be smaller than that?
They can be smaller, Jilli.
I had a four ounce bottle of moisturizer joyfully thrown in the trash last year. It had about one ounce of liquid in it.
What I can't understand is why there isn't a large public outrage over the nonsensical liquid stuff and the nonsensical shoe stuff.
People just sit there and take it. I don't mean going off at the people doing the checking, I mean afterward. We all know it's bullshit. There isn't anyone who doesn't know it's bullshit. And yet...

Oh, how crazy-making. Note to self, decant your damn sunblock into a smaller bottle.
It's not a big enough inconvienience for people to lobby for change, I think. I think it's easier just to find work arounds- put it in checked baggage, find travel size stuff, decant into small plastic bottles, buy it when you get there, whatever.
Timelies all!
Am trying to type one handed because Nova has her paws on my left arm. Good thing she's so cute...
