A Week in the Life of Benazir Bhutto
In a series of "Diary" entries published in 1997 and reproduced below, the Pakistani opposition leader describes giving impassioned political speeches and buying McDonald's ice cream sundaes for her children.
Damn. She was awesome.
edit to fix link.
I'm gonna try to make it another 45 minutes, and then I think I'll crawl home and go back to bed.
Your link is blank, tommy.
I've emailed in late this morning. Have an unavoidable afternoon of meetings, so this is the way up it has to be.
Go home and feel better, shrift!
Happy Belateds to both Theodosia and Jesse!
From last night:
Does eBay have gift cards?
Yes, it does--I gave one to my sister for Christmas. I picked it up at the gift card center at my local grocery store (which was well-stocked with everything from Home Depot to Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy's).
I was so sad to hear about Benazir Bhutto on the radio this morning, but I wasn't shocked--if that's being cynical about the status of opposition leaders in volatile regimes, so be it.
So much for 45 minutes. Going home now.
Fly and be free, shrift. Or at least home.
I'd hoped the Benazir Bhutto outcome would be different, and I guess I am shocked it's not. But not surprised, if that hairsplitting makes sense.
Timelies...
Happy Belated Birthday, Jesse & Theo!!
Have returned from the wilds of Eugene. Family is fine, if just as whack-ass as I remember. My cat missed me a lot, and keeps trying to surgically attach himself to me. Whee....
My newly restored Mac has been trying to be the headset for my new phone, which is why I couldn't answer any calls this morning.
This augurs ill.
