Happy Birthday, Theodosia!

Happy Birthday, Jesse!

I am at work. I got here early because apparently 75% of Chicago isn't working today, or something. Getting to Michigan on Friday took over six hours due to a freight train crash. Found out my grandfather was in the hospital, although he was discharged on Saturday. Remembered too late that our extended family Christmas was going to be at my parents' house, and I couldn't escape. (Oh, family fun, being squashed on a couch with the schizophrenic cousin who appeared to be on his meds, maybe, and the sullen, smug little brat of a cousin who is not related to me by marriage or blood, ha ha, oh god.)

But I got some nice presents and spent a lot of time with my mom, so that was good.

BOO Urgent Care!

My office is basically empty, but my boss is here and the creative studio that does most work I generate is in, so we are actually getting through some stuff - just no one is in a hurry about it. Should be a good day.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A client sent a list of stuff to fix/change for a web thingie I did for them. They want a detailed (and accurate) estimate of how long each item will take.

I am half brain-dead. Doing the work wouldn't be too bad, as I'd just do the items one by one. But to give an accurate estimate seems to require more thinking....

Sadly, '42' won't work, because it would take more than 42 minutes, yet 42 hours is too much....

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm looking at holiday craft ideas. For next year or some such. Craftzine is crack.

Trust my rage

I am not really sleep deprived but I totally don't want to be here.

Health care has not been good to buffistas, lately.

Would it be really wrong of me to lie and say that my dr. appt will take lal day when I'm positive it won't? Because I really don't want to be here tomorrow either...

My throat hurts. If the SoCal plague has made it to the midwest, I will be very grumpy.

Kat, I am stockpiling ornament craft ideas (mac will make a new ornament each year for our tree). This year I made two gift bags using plain white lunch bags and cutting up old Christmas cards.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm so craftarded. But I was nearly seduced by the cutting tool I've seen advertised on television ad nauseum recently. It cuts pretty, decorative edges for scrapbooking, as well as perf edges. And it lights up! All for $19.95 plus s&h.

Our weather forecast is calling for six more inches of snow on Friday. WTF? We've got at least 14 inches on the ground already. When we moved up here, people were telling us how mild the winters have been and how the snow mobile trails have barely been open more than a week for the last several years. Now we get a lot of early snow and it just keeps coming.
