Natter 55: It's the 55th Natter
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I don't have the energy to be furious, but I think I've given up. If it's not possible to cure my headache without killing me, someone has to just step up and say it.
This is not a process of negotiation. I won't say "6mg every half an hour" in an attempt to get you to shift somewhat from "2mg every 8 hours."
Either you think I'm in that much pain, or you don't. Fact is, the whole reason I'm there is that 4mg spaced by hour and a half just wasn't cutting it. What about 2mg every 8 sounds like it's going to help? 4 every 6?
I need a referral to a whole new set of doctors.
Can't disagree with that. Even with our screwed up medical system and our drug war paranoia, that has to be possible somewhere in your area.
I'm so sorry everyone's sick! Let me know if I can help. I have no exciting plans for today, and could easily help out if needed. Allyson, you're not even all that far from me.
Hi, ita's sister!
I spent 8 hours and 15 minutes at work today, and would've stayed longer except that we had equipment failure. Everyone who left early? Which was just about, oh, everyone? They are all terrible slackers. Just to be clear. I was willing to stay longer, on Christmas Eve, with zero overtime pay and zero Christmas bonus, to save the 97 different types of complicated files that the main office was requesting that I make today. Because, apparently, I work for Scrooge McDuck. However, Santa loves me and made the computer sulky. So Santa is awesome.
Good lord, this has not been a healthy day for folk. May you get better, or get good treatment or both.
My mother is convinced that the mint truffle kisses in the green foil are creamier than those in the silver.
Me? I think she's nuts.
Today we: made banana bread and coleslaw; last minute shopped; wrapped presents; ate tamales, beans and coleslaw; received thank-you phone calls from my now 5 year old nephew; set up the luminarias; saw pictures of scaryass naked mice (courtesy of my brother) and cute ones of the nephews; went to Mesilla to see the luminarias after dinner; came home and drank wine and ate biscochos; opened our presents; went for a walk to look at the lights and I'm now sitting here as my dad does his turn at filling stockings. I'm waiting for him to finish to put out the bottle of Glenlivet that he doesn't know about (he already got a bottle of Glenfiddich. But the Glenlivet was on sale!)
I got a roomba. It makes me laugh and laugh.
Tomorrow is stockings and ham and...some other stuff.
I haven't gotten too cranky, despite them only having one working car at the moment. 3 adults, one car, miles from anything walkable= claustrophobic sara.
Naked mice? Do mice wear shirts, shoes, and hats like in Cinderella where you come from? Because that sounds awesome.
Merry Christmas, Buffistas!
I'm up early with the baby this morning - fortunately he is being extra-cute and self-sufficient (we have recently discovered the joys of holding one's own bottle) so that I can catch up on the interwebs.
My cold is resolving itself, and so all of my available healthma are belong to ita and Allyson.
(hey did you know that double clicking the iPod touch spacebar will make it put a period at the end of your sentence? Neato!)

I wish I were visiting sarameg's family again this year because that sounds LOVELY. As it is, I'm dressed in festive fleece pants, watching Noah play in his baby gym. We bought food for dinner tonight, but nothing for breakfast. OOPS. I wonder if we could go to Billy's Deli and get breakfast?
I'm awake, and the food poisoning has passed. I had a few bites of chef boyardee raviolis because i figured kid food would be mild enough to try, and am now sipping tea.
My head and neck are still achey from all the vomiting, but the nausea and dizziness is gone. Just tired, going to take it easy.
Still! Kristen and I have Sweeney Todd tix for today, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go, but it looks like it's on!
Merry Christmas!
Glad Allyson is feeling better; wishing for ita a whole new set of doctors who bring the anti-pain.
Waiting for family to arrive. Still have to wrap presents and fill a stocking. Perhaps I should get on that...
Oh Allyson, happy that you are feeling better.
My soufflees don't smell right. Bummer.
Aww, yay Allyson feeling a little better.
How are souffles supposed to smell, Kat?
I slept in and did not go to church. My sister did. I suspect I will hear about this later.
Now to decide what movies we want to go to when she get back.
