I would be there right now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Problem with google earth, if I can't find the town name there either...but it's a start. I have a lot of tagging to do.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just cleaned off my desk for the first time since Emily came to stay with me.

That was kind of gross, but then I got to shred lots and lots.

It really is. Especially when you have a cat who is fascinated by the process and loves to watch the magically disappearing paper.

The last 4 paragraphs of the story:

“Who is your favorite author?” Aleya Deatsch, 7, of West Des Moines asked Mr. Huckabee in one of those posing-like-a-shopping-mall-Santa moments.

Mr. Huckabee paused, then said his favorite author was Dr. Seuss.

In an interview afterward with the news media, Aleya said she was somewhat surprised. She thought the candidate would be reading at a higher level.

“My favorite author is C. S. Lewis,” she said.

like the story.

I don't like shredding paper.

and instead of doing chores, I am blogging about housework. It has not brought the cleaning fairies.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Debt issues question:

I just discovered we accidentally went over the limit on one of our cards. We're still well under our total credit limit, I just forgot that we were close to the top on this particular card, and we put some of our Christmas travel on it. We're only a hair over the limit, like $200, and I'm about to go online and pay as much as I can, which is a bit more than the minimum and enough to get us back under the limit.

Two questions:

1. The minimum payment is twice was it was last month, much more than is justified by what we spent. Is this one time because we're over the limit, or is it permanent as punishment for going over? And if the latter, is there any way we can fight it?

2. This probably means we've completely ruined all our chances of getting that personal loan to pay off the credit cards and give us a regular monthly payment that's tough but doable, right?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

That's a good gift!

I am trying to figure out what and how to pack. Seriously. We have a lot of stuff.
