Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Daaamn, Lisa! Now I want to buy many shoes from there. But I've had enough issues with Aerosoles not to want to order them online.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So have people heard about the astronaut on the International Space Station whose mom was killed in a car/train accident yesterday?

Poor guy will have to wait 'til at least January 10th to come back to Earth....

Punishingly Intricate

So have people heard about the astronaut on the International Space Station whose mom was killed in a car/train accident yesterday?

oh my gosh, no. how sad.

Daaamn, Lisa! Now I want to buy many shoes from there.

I know, right? I couldn't find a single boot I liked on zappos yesterday and was complaining about it to a friend and she said she had like 4 boots from Aerosoles this year and was loving them all. I hope they work out! I've had sandals from them which were great but never boots.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Emily, you totally made my morning with the callback to our old filk of "Peaches." Thank you.

I was wishing Thomash was still about the other day. "Silver Bells" was playing and I was trying to remember the words he and I had made up for it, twisting it to be about the Black Plague or something.

The only line I remember is:

"See the snow bunch, hear the kids crunch, it's the Reaper's big scene...and on every street corner you heeeeaaaarrrr..."

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

"See the snow bunch, hear the kids crunch, it's the Reaper's big scene...and on every street corner you heeeeaaaarrrr..."

Bring your dead, bring your dead
Black death has come to the city
All fall down
Flee the town
We'll all be dead any way.

(That just came into my head. Please don't report me to the authorities.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

By 10:30 today I had already been lost in three different work buildings. I hope no one doesn't think I don't put my all into this gig. That's accomplishing.

Now I need a lie down.

Thank god I kicked (so to speak) my Aerosoles habit.

I got 1 and a half hours of sleep last night, and I feel nowhere near bad enough. I'm scared.

W00t!! Just got all my presents mailed out. All I have to do tomorrow is go to Heifer International's site to send in my donation for my dad's "gift" and print out the response to include in his card, and then pull out one of my extra Christmas cards for my stepmom. Oh, and wrap the two books I bought for my boss tonight in case she comes into this office tomorrow, which I don't think she will (she usually works out of the one in the city), but you never know. If not, I'll just interoffice-mail it to her there.

My cat will like the wrapping of books, since she got a ball out of me wrapping the box of books for my BIL this morning--she immediately laid down on the paper that I laid flat on the coffee table, and then refused to get up when I wanted to wrap it around the box. She was delighted when I balled up the extra scraps in one big wad and threw it on the floor for her to bat around.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

And how about you, aurelia? Have you been visited by the insomnia fairy as well, or are you on a different shift?

My default sleep cycle seems to be 4am-noon if I'm not working. I really meant to go to bed earlier.

Police said Rose Tani was stopped at railroad tracks on Elizabeth Street behind a school bus carrying students from her son's alma mater when she honked her horn, then went around the bus and past a lowered crossing gate.

Why in the world was a 90 yr old in such a hurry?
