Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am watching the top songs of the 90s on VH1. God, how did we live through such an insipid decade? I guess the same can be said about the 80s, but I want to punch myself for about 70% of these songs.

WHO ARE YOU? Jesse, go and punch her the fuck out.

The 80s was god! 1995, summer of, hip hop/rap/r&b? Rrowr.

What music can you possibly like? The oughties are so boring. And the 70s, oh, the excuses we must make.

I think my harmless might annul your kick-ass.

I feel I should argue this statement, but I can't decide which part to go at. It's a strange feeling, this helplessness. Maybe I should go tweak my apartment some more.

I adore sticky notes and all their potential.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, go and punch her the fuck out.

Will do.

Speaking of sticky notes, I got these from a coworker. Hilarious.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The 30% are basically anything indie, or R&B/rap. Here is the link: [link]

Here are the insipid songs I had just heard:

45. Hootie & the Blowfish "Only Wanna Be With You"
46. Shania Twain "You're Still the One"
48. Matchbox Twenty "3 AM"
49. Jewel "Who Will Save Your Soul"
52. Sugar Ray "Fly"
54. Joan Osborne "One of Us"
58. Sophie B. Hawkins "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover"
61. Sheryl Crow "All I Wanna Do"
62. Live "I Alone"
64. The Presidents of the United States of America "Peaches"
66. Edwin McCain "I'll Be"

ETA: I would love like every song on the top 80s list, just in comparison. But they would be almost indefensibly poppy.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So, let's say a dog ate an entire bag of brown sugar. Would that be a bad thing, do we think? How bad?

I'm already getting excited for the low numbers, because I don't think there's been a Pearl Jam song yet. Oh, college.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Brenda, I think that dog's shit really is going to smell sweeter than anyone else's for a while.

IOW, you're gonna have one uppity dog.

Hee. Not my dog, thankfully. But I don't see anything poking around the web to suggest that the dog is in for anything more serious than some digestive woes.

ETA: Which, seriously, you eat a whole bag of sugar, it's no more than you deserve.

Apparently sugar-free gum is very bad news for dogs, though. Who knew?
