"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

That happened to Mr. Jane the first time he rode in my Volvo.

So much happening while I've been gone. Hugs and well wishes to everybody. I'm never going to catch up with work and the holidays, so I'm just skipping and skimming until they're over.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

heading to bed. I am at 34 cards done, I have 11 more physical cards to use up and then I will be free from them, but I will get to them tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Unexpected heated seats make me have naughty thoughts.

Reality TV shocks: Perez Hilton is on TV? Who thought that made sense? And who are these bad girls and why are they so nasty?

It's all gotten much worse than I'd thought. Watched Confessions of a Dangerous Mind over the weekend and laughed at Chuck Barris being slammed for the junk he put up in front of us. Yeah. Gong Show. A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. He totally started it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, remember Min? Anyone know what happened to her?

I don't know. I miss Min. I used to chat with her all the time, while she was staying up late and zapping hackers who were trying to break into whatever computer system she was defending.

I looked at a list of movies playing in January and maybe it's just the weird painkillers talking (I am on the weird ones right now), but that's a lacklustre month! I'm kinda pissed. And mostly left sour by watching a Walk Hard piece. Ugly dork comedy. Whatever.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Nice typo:

"The goal is to encourage students to be creative in an era when funding for the arts has been slashed to the bone. “We’re like a finger in the dyke,” says Paula Owen, president of the Southwest School, about the program," - San Antonio Express-News, November 23.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

yay, Christmas lights! We didn't go to Hastings Ranch (too wet, too far away) but the neighborhood next over delivered just fine.

My son has a new bedtime habit. Instead of falling asleep in his own bed, he waits a bit, then skedaddles down the hall into our bed, crawls in, and falls fast asleep. He's there right now.

Thanks! Now with extra puke.

Actually that whole scene pretty much emulates what it's like to sleep in the same bed with Matilda. She is a total head grappler, and occasional puker.

I'm mildly concerned with Matilda's ultra-tininess. She'll be 15 months around xmas and she's about the size of an 8 month old. Or Emmett when he was 6 months old. But she's very strong and active and verbal and a delight so that mitigates things.

Also, she's started to fill out horizontally a bit which often presages an upsurge.

And if she winds up staying on the tiny side I have plenty of short statured exemplars of cool around here to allay my concerns.

Ugly dork comedy. Whatever.

Really? Because I heard John C. Reilly interviewed on Fresh Air last week and it sounded awesome. If it's actually humiliation comedy I won't be able to watch it...

Doesn't sound that way, except on a meta label. I just feel Judd Apatow's been tugging at my sleeve blank-faced "just this guy I met online and he's really funny" movies. It worked with 40 Year Old Virgin, but frankly I'm feeling a touch overtugged righ now.

Tommy is the assumption that the wall is spelled "dike"? Because I've always spelt it "dyke" and apparently the Brits are A okay with the whole thing.
