At one bar the bouncer said she was underage and that he was going to confiscate her drivers license. I had to explain that since it was after midnight it had now become the "next day" so she was therefore legal.

I had a bouncer try to put a big X on my hand. I put my hands behind my back and made my friend show him her watch, we had deliberately waited until 12:15 so there would be no issues.

Shoot, not like my birthday changes when my license expires. Geeeze.

Tell that to ABC, because they're the ones who set the rules that all ID must be current and that everyone in the bar must be of age and have ID on them. It's a fine and a strike if that's not complied with. So, it sucks that you got kicked out, but I understand where the bar was coming from.

I had a fake SoDak ID that I got for free, since I let the dude copy my AK license (which was still the laminated kind).

I still would have had a semester of trouble.

McGill is the university that gave coupons for pitchers of beer to blood donors--no carding there. Pretty sure that they didn't card in the campus bars either. Don't remember it coming up and I did hang out with people who started university a full year early.

Okay, I know I'm over-reacting but here's what had me so pissy before. Email from cow-orker:

Steph and I were talking and we thought it might be nice to get [Boss] a gift card to Crate & Barrel for her housewarming/the holidays since we won't officially see her again until January.

Well, it would be.

But you know - she did a marathon this fall and we got her big gift baskets for the day before and the day after (delivered at home). And you know, other people (not naming names) closed on new condos this fall as well and didn't get housewarming gift cards.

She did give us holiday gifts, but of the card-and-an-ornament type. (Which is great and nice, that's no part of my complaint.) But I really don't see the need to repay that with freaking Crate and Barrel - particularly when the reason we won't see her before the holidays is because she's taking two weeks off - none of the rest of us have that freedom because we need to, you know, cover the work.

[I'm also realizing that part of my upset is that I don't know if this place does any kind of Christmas bonus or anything, but if we do I haven't heard about it, so I'm a little extra uninclined to throw $20 of my shopping money at the boss.]
