I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Cute frames, Kathy! That's strange but neat about your vision improving.

I hope Jilli is around: [link]

That sound you people may have heard? That was the sound of my brain shorting out.

Dude, I don't know. Obviously, we must study him to find out. And to talk about comics and RPGs and such. For science!

He makes me want to go nerd-hunting in basements around the world in the hope that we'll find another one who hits critical hotness at age 30, but I suspect he's the gorgeous geek equivalent of monkeys typing Shakespeare.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went to the DMV and the woman didn't mention taking a new picture, and that would have been a whole nother wait, and we weren't communicating so well (she was deaf with cochlear implants, so kind of hard to understand), so I let it go. Apparently they will mail me the new license in two weeks. And my vision (with glasses) was just barely good enough to read the eye chart, once I figured out which frigging line I was supposed to read. Hint: it was the one circled in red.

I also went shopping, where I got a super cute dress for $14, which justified buying a cashmere sweater for ... considerably more.

I miss the NY DMV, where they let you take your picture over if you don't like it and, more importantly, don't list your weight. Le sigh.

Yeah, I was pleased with not having to lie about list my weight. I also like the take-a-number system. I waited like a half hour, but it was just sitting on a bench reading, so no big.

They let people do that at the annex MVA place (I don't know about other branches.) The glories of digital. I think you only have to go in person and get a new photo every 10 years. I renewed the current one completely by mail.
