Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure I've small-talked with Allyson, anyway.

I don't small talk well. And the onus ends up being on me to be funny.

Dude, I can make strike jokes until your NEXT holiday party. No worries.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, don't worry, Allyson. There are bound to be people at the party like me who believe the onus is on them to think everyone else is funny and will just laugh at anything anybody says.

eta: Which is to say, I'm horrible at parties and I totally empathize.

At the last party, I offered inappropriate baked goods and then freaking HAM to someone who keeps kosher. Which I know. I just flat out blanked. Oh & then I said "I'm sorry" meaning, "I'm sorry I forgot" but it pretty much sounded like I was sorry she kept kosher. And then, trying to talk to a coworker, the guy next to me thought I was talking to him, and I was all "uh, no" rather curtly.

And at least three people probably heard me mutter "I hate these things." And then the big boss asked me why I was leaving the party so early.

And I lived to tell!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's the Snowsleeticepocalypse!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I have trouble believing Canlis is the priciest restaurant in these parts. Yes, it's expensive and iconic, but I thought the Herb Farm would set you back more $$.

Speaking as someone who is going to the Herb Farm tonight (!!! It's our delayed wedding anniversary present to each other), yes, the Herb Farm is MUCH more expensive than Canlis, and I refuse to believe the food at Canlis would be better. That is completely not possible.

Oh, crap. I hope that Jess gets to Cincinnati OK.

The Herb Farm is on my list for a meal the next time I'm in Seattle.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Jessica-- my condolances to you and yours.

Allyson-- I am sure you do small talk better than I do. Unless I right down questions to ask, I pretty much need to be with a good small-talker, or I just talk and talk and talk about myself, my personal quirks, and I overshare-- all through shyness.

Or I do what tommy does and busy myself and/or visit the bathroom.

I am a little scared of the Snowpocolypse, because I take the bus and I have to work tomorrow at the theatre. And since the designer flew in today to do fittings tomorrow and leaves tomorrow night and doesn't come back until next year-- we sort of have to do it.
