"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

"Roger Clemens adamantly, vehemently, and whatever other adjectives can be used, denies that he has ever used steroids or ... improper substances," Clemens' attorney, Rusty Hardin said Thursday

And this just in - Lt. Reneault is shocked, SHOCKED to find there is gambling going on at Rick's American Cafe.

not your mom's socks.

See also: why I don't have CFL bulbs anywhere near me, despite working for a cleantech practice. (They buzz. And flicker. Even the new ones. I realize I'm oversensitive, but I don't need to be gaslighted by newfangled technology.)

perzactly. Juliana is me. Also, I can tell you if any mid-size to large screen device has been left on but isn't receiving data anywhere in our house without looking. They hum funny. That I can do this drives DH batshit.

eta: Go Shrift!

Also, very late here, but I'd definitely like to add an outraged WTFF?!??! to the whole issue with Kat's employers.

They hum at a frequency most people can't hear. Clearly, we are dogs.

On the up side, I fully expect this weird ability to help me predict any earthquakes in my vicinity.

Punishingly Intricate

Can I ask for some gift ideas?

What are some good gifts for a couple with a new baby? Not baby gifts but something they'd appreciate. Both of my brothers' wives are expecting new babies in the next month and, boy, it would make my gift-buying job easier/more cost efficient if a) I could get them each something as a couple rather than one for each brother, one for SiL and b) if I could get both couples basically the same thing.

I thought about movie tix along with an offer to babysit but am blanking on other good ideas.

this is a great idea.

a girlfriend just gifted another new-baby couple with two merry-maids cleaning gift certificates. That was WAY appreciated.

can you offer to make up a bunch of meals-to-freeze or a TJ's gift basket with emergency rations? We've been living on the frozen chow mein lately.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Tonight is my work christmas party.

I am wearing a stupid suit and heels.

BLEH.

Kristen is my date, and there's a Yankee gift exchange.

I purchased a seamonkey aquarium and a set of famous pirate playing cards with a "gold doubloon" that comes with a lead warning.

Waiting for Kristen to tell me which gift she wants to give.
