ita, one of my bosses recommends a dill pickle a day as salt treatment. But salt tablets are probably the easiest way to go. The brand name is Thermotabs.
Oh, man. Matilda's in my lap swooning with sleep, and it's barely seven. Last night she had an epic bout of
I Am Not Sleepy And I Will Not Go To Bed!,
complete with four or five rounds of fighting her way back to the waking world from 98% asleep (each time accompanied by fretful whining and sobbing, because whatever her mind said, her body was TI.RED). The only sustained sleep she got was 40 minutes unconscious on Hec's chest in the living room starting at about 11:30, from which she promptly woke the second he transferred her to me.
Last night: so painfully sleepless for everyone (and Hec, who has another writing assignment due at the end of the week, got no writing done at all). Tonight, she hasn't even had dinner and she's dead to the world.
Let her sleep? Wake her up and try to keep her up for at least another hour so she doesn't sleep the night through and then wake up at five in the morning?
And, Steph, it was the pain people, the ones theoretically familiar with propofol who were the ones balking. My migraine guy came round.
Jesus fucking Christ. It's not like the drug is a random suggestion -- all these medical professionals have to do is use The Google. If *I* can find it, they sure the hell can. There are goddamned documented studies of it working.
Another drug you might want to mention to your migraine doctor is thalidomide. Apparently it's been successful at reducing intractable pain: [link] (scroll down).
Maybe if I start referring to the things I want with the prefix "Iya-" then a kind stranger will send it to me.
I am good.
I want
Iyacoffee.
john denver & the muppets Christmas album = me happy
ita, I had forgotten about your popcorn issues. I think the salt tablets are the best way for you to go, but for future reference, bacon salt is both nitrite and nitrate -free. (Pete has issues with both, so I had to double-check.)
Kat , I know you have enough craziness now, but talking to a lawyer or union rep would be a good idea
and good luck , JZ.
My father was a pilot, so I have been flying forever. Flying has changed. United is rarely on time now. As in I think they need to start giving food to people to help keep them coffee. Martini's would also be good. Oddly -I felt worse for the parents - that had schedualed flights so the babies would sleep. a 3 hour delay - purely due to lack of crew ( that was not weather delayed - just badly schedualed) really messed that plan up.
and I one who drives, but would like the ability to skip it some days. I know there are times when it would be better if I wasn't driving.
This country needs high-speed rail.
ION, I have just discovered that
Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space
is on DVD....
This country needs fucking teleportation. If it existed, I'd get up at my normal time and be able to do early morning and evening childcare for FREE for my friends spread far and wide (um, and play with neato kids) and still hold a job.
ita, orthostatic hypotension could explain the fainting, anyway. How do you feel about soy sauce? It's seriously loaded with sodium.
I've never been afraid of flying. Flying is safe. Driving is dangerous.
