Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When they charge you more for white meat is it increased volume? Perceived quality?

I always thought it's just plain old supply and demand....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Unless my count is off, there are as many pieces of white as dark. I can't work out if a piece of white has more volume of meat, though. I can't imagine it's considerable, but I always order dark given a choice because that's where the flavour lives.

My impression is that overall, more people prefer white meat.

dark meat has more flavor people!

WORD! It's all the extra bloody parts.

Actually, is that what makes dark meat dark? I have no idea.

Most definitely. I will be doing some shopping this weekend.

I'm generally not a fan of "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission" (so much so that I kept typing it the wrong way round) but when it comes to warmth I feel tempted to risk immolation as a first round tactic.

See, if I'm warm in it walking outside, I should be warm in it sitting at my desk. It's only fair.

Dark meat has more blood vessels. Birds that fly have all dark meat. Non-flying birds have white meat - some of them can fly, but only a short distance, as not enough blood makes it to the muscles for continuous flight.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think meat:bone might be highest for breast, though I think the price difference between breasts and thighs is more than the meat % difference.

Eta: also, white meat has a greater tendency to be dry and tasteless, but people still want it. Because they're more sure it's really chicken and not pigeon or something? I don't know.

More fat, too. Mmmm.

Freezing rain suddenly is in tomorrow's forecast. And possible nor'easter this weekend.

I really hate winter.
