'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

We didn't have an ice storm overnight -- but we had a pretty impressive Frost Event, as in a sparkly coat of rime over everything -- shiny windshields, glittering blades of grass. A pain to have to scrape off, but pretty in its way.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I was a little bit sick over the weekend, and I didn't sleep much, so last night I went to bed good and early at 9:00pm, so I could get a full night's rest.

So then I got a call at 2:30am this morning from work; I had to dial in and reboot a server.

ION, Greek yogurt is yummy.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Poor Tom.

Trust my rage

Is it too late to talk about my weekend?

Friday - took Ellie to an award ceremony Joe was in charge of. She had a rgeat time harrassing a 6 year-old who didn't seem to know what to do with Ellie. I stepped in when it stopped being fun.

Saturday - went to the beach but it was too windy to be fun. Got breakfast as usual. Got our Chrstmas tree (huge and cheap!). Saw a movie with Joe. Went to a barbeque with new friends and some old friends.

Sunday - went to church but left in the middle of a depressing sermon. Took Ellie to get donuts instead. Went grocery shopping with Ellie. Napped with Ellie. Decorated tree while Ellie napped some more. Cleaned backyard in preperation for party on Thursday. Went to dinner and then to bed.

Monday - left work early due to very sore back from all the work on Sunday.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Looks like the Killer Freezing Rainstorm of Icy Death (and Sleet) has mostly missed us....

Punishingly Intricate

I have gotten basically nothing done for the holidays and it is FREAKING ME OUT! And I'm working at my friends' store for the next two Saturdays which should be good for present buying but not for, like, getting lights up at my house or getting a tree. I'm seriously contemplating not getting one this year which would be unprecedented for me.

timelies!

the day started out not bad, but now i feel like i'm going to be sick. i've never had nausea come on this quickly before for what seems to be no reason. my co-worker is eating chicken and dumplings straight out of the can and that smell is just making it worse. and before you ask, no, i'm not pregnant.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Snow! We got a ton of snow last night. Dunno how the roads are yet.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Straight out of the can? That sound very unappetizing.

I have to finish Christmas cards (tiggy, thanks for the card!) and we need to shop for DH's family. I've finished buying for the kids and given my sister the money to shop for the other kids in the family. So I'll say we're half-way to being holiday ready.
