Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

And Hil, about those menorah lights ... did Jilli or Cass have anything to do with the design? (snerk)

t falls down laughing and DIES

Scrappy, DH sleeps with a hat. He calls it his Sleepin' Hat. You lose a lot of heat through the head. He would highly approve of your choice.

How terribly Little House on the Prairie of him!

Ornaments. We always had a very sentimental tree and Mom would give each of us an ornament each year so that when we moved out we each got a big box of our own. The year of the fire, however, most of them were lost.

The first Christmas after the fire, much of our extended family sent Mom ornaments she had sent them over the years -- many of which were duplicates of ones Mommy had lost. And our friends surprised us with an ornament party a few weeks before Christmas -- cookies, cider, everyone brought something so our tree wouldn't be bare.

As sad as it was to lose so many "Oooh! Aunt Dona got us THIS the year Rachel was born..." its wonderful to say "Dottie got us this the year after the fire".

And now Mom always gets me a Radko. My mieserly little heart loooooves a shiny shiny Radko.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, poor ita. I hate not being able to do anything. Except rage at the people who should be able to do something!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

jeeezus, kat! I already got the twins in my life an xmas present (family pass to Port Discovery kids museum!) but how can I resist getting those??? I'm going to have to though if anybody else on my list is going to get a christmas present.

I'm sorry to tempt! Did you see the little bit country/little bit rock and roll twin sets?

When am I going to go get the pinata i've been tasked with getting for my sister-in-law's baby shower? During the planning it seemed like I'd have sooo much time but it turns out I really don't!

When is the shower? is it that you are having a hard time finding a pinata?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Check out this Washington Times article (screenshot, as they've deleted it from their webpage): [link]

Compassionately intolerant

DH sleeps with a hat

A friend who runs Outward Bound courses she refers to as "Hoods in the Woods", says "Feet cold, put on a hat!" It works, I must say...even when I just put on a bandana, vata-like, I feel warmer all over.

In re: hypnosis from way upthread.

I like and wholeheartedly endorse hypnosis, both guided and self-hypnosis, as an excellent tool for relaxation and self awareness.

Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is just relaxation and you won't do anything 'under' that you don't choose to. The funny antics you see in stage shows and bar performances are generally people clucking like chickens because they have social permission to!

Damn. I keep wishing for an answer for ita.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Allyson! Hush!

Thanks guys. I have wifi for right now, but no cell service.

Or a plan. I don't know what happens next.

Kat, you gave me neat slipper socks a couple admissions ago. They go from slounge to bed well (well, for me) but I've about killed them with wear.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Much ~ma for ita. Thanks for the update, Allyson.

We finally have heat. Weird issue with a loose wire but the service tech was very nice.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

ita, glad to see you checking in -- the ~ma continues as long as you need it.
