Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Political quote of the day?

"Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone." - Mitt Romney

Salon had this to say:

In the speech, Romney is attempting to pull off the "have it both ways" shuffle. He is aligning himself with those conservatives advocating more religion in the public sphere while simultaneously arguing that the doctrines of Mormonism should be off-limits in the campaign. In my judgment, Romney is half-right here -- no one should quiz him about his religious beliefs or vote against him because of his church. (For those who crave more on my views read today's piece.) But this back-and-forth is all part of the standard political debate that has been going on since, at least, the Supreme Court banned school prayer in 1963.

But anyway, he's still a wanker.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My mom still puts up ornaments that each of us three kids painted back in elementary school, as well as the fun old instrument ornaments, one or two of which still make noise when you blow into them (the French horn and the trumpet).

I managed to get my tree assembled in a few hours last night, but didn't bother trying to pull out the lights yet. They're somewhere in my closet, but since I have to work at the bookstore tonight, they won't start going up until almost midnight. I have to put the ornaments on, drape the ribbon around for garland, and then see if I have some wire so I can make up two big bows to top the tree tomorrow night.

Right now, the majority of my ornaments are cheapo glass balls that I got when my grandma passed away, but I'm slowly replacing them with keepsake and pretty ornaments that I'm accumulating over time. The nonbreakables get placed at cat-range, and the prettier ones go on top on the side facing the room (the cheapo ornaments go on the side facing the balcony door).

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

ita will likely be admitted to the hospital this morning. Says it was the worst migraine she's ever experienced, and is still raging on.

Will post updates.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Oh, god. Poor ita. Thanks for letting us know, Allyson.

I wish so much that there was something I (or anyone!!) could do to stop this pain for her. Ugh.

The status is NOT quo.

Fuck. Thanks for the update, Allyson. Let me know if there's anything I can do locally.

Compassionately intolerant

Prayers for ease, both current and final for ita's migraines. Good lord, how awful, after all she's been through with this.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
