"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I was just at the Kappy's and I don't think I saw it. I wasn't looking for it specifically, but I was examining all the winter type beers they had, and we bought 2 others.

I'll talk to my friend and see if he can get some more. I may have him get a case for me. It ain't cheap, though. Something like $10+ a six. It is that good, though, and it will keep over time (I might try putting six down for next winter - if I can hold out that long on drinking it).

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I feel a sudden need to buy some dark chocolate to go with my Guinness.

Er. Yeah, we spend a lot of money for beer, that's not out of line. I'd be happy to split a case with you if you like, or just buy a six pack off your hands. If it comes about.

Microbrew prices are about to go up like WHOA due to the hop shortage and malt/grain price increases- I fear that spending $10+ for a sixpack will soon be the norm. More than that, I fear that the insane ingredient price increases will put a lot of small breweries out of business.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm going to head over to Binny's on Friday night to see if they have any Smithwick's in stock that I can take over to a party I'm going to on Saturday. I loves me some Smithwicks, so smooth and tasty.

Those sound like the best safety training slides ever.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

More than that, I fear that the insane ingredient price increases will put a lot of small breweries out of business.

Yeah, this is my worry -- the ingredient costs are so much lower for the big guys (what with them using so very little of barley or hops...) that they'll be able to hold prices down when the micros can't. (And that'd be true even if they didn't have much bigger margins to begin with.)

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Nora, I just looked at Ommegang's Web site, and now I really want to try the Chocolate Indulgence. Yum. I've had the Hennepin and the Three Philosophers, and they're just outstanding.
