Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

You want I should have my boss call your bosses and explain class?

I don't even think getting hit repeatedly with a cluestick would do the trick, but i appreciate the offer.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, yeah, but $20 cash would feel pathetic in a way a $20 gift doesn't.

This is why I don't like giving gift cards.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Well, it is going to be in Geneva (AmyLiz will know where it is), which is not that near Rochester (50 miles away).

This is obviously going to be an "Oh, HELL NO" kind of day.

Punishingly Intricate

I know I don't REALLY want to go, but I feel like a jackhole and am considering renting a car.

You have other obligations! Why on earth would you feel bad about that?!

Tiggy, I totally agree that that shit is insane. But I can also understand how it's easier to go along with something, even something fucked up and weird like being forced into donating. Do you think your boss is aware that the office manager makes it de facto mandatory?

I know where Geneva is! (I lived in Buffalo for 8 years.)

And you shouldn't rent a car for something you don't really want to attend.

The only time I've ever gotten a gift of any kind from a boss was when I left BU after 6 years. They gave me a real hefty gift card which... I have probably lost. CRAP! Did I use it or lose it?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know I don't REALLY want to go, but I feel like a jackhole and am considering renting a car. Or asking the designer if I can leave a 4 pm, although that makes me feel like an ass.

Dude, totally don't go. Eff that noise!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The new other attorney I work for is a partner and notorious for cheap-ass gifts (when she remembers them at all). Like a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

I think that cheap-ass is different in upstate, because I usually receive $10 gift cards. $25 come from friends!

In other news, DIE, STUPID SOFTWARE, DIE!!!

Well, I suppose if you work for lawyers the scale is legitimately different.

On the other hand, I worked for doctors, so...
