How ironic do you think it is that the last line of the Letterman promo I just saw was him saying, "I wish I had something funny to say!"

Timelies all!
The FSGW Getaway was fun, and I am tired.
Came home to find that the woman from the vet hospital who was supposed to check in on the kittens yesterday never showed up.(The food dish was empty, the water dish was nearly so, and the money we put out was still there)At least now we know we can leave the fuzzbutts alone for a weekend.
Maybe the kittens killed and ate her.
According to the doctors, Teddy and Rigatoni should be able to some home tomorrow! Teddy started eating last night, so it looks like his cyclosporine (immune suppressant) levels are in the right range. Of course, both cats still have stitches closing sizable incisions on their stomachs. So we're supposed to keep them from jumping (Ha!).
Sarameg, way, way upthread you mentioned a problem with putting anything in your cat's mouth. Your vet should have a piller. It's basically a syringe with a rubber grippy thingy where the needle would be. Ours cost $8, and it came in very handy when I had to give Teddy multiple meds by myself.
So glad Teddy and Rigatoni are doing well. I love that your new kitty is named Rigatoni. I don't know why, but that name just makes me smile every time I see it.
Nathan Fillion fans might want to know his character just delivered a baby on Desperate Housewives while dressed as Frankenstein's Monster.

Fred, I have one. Doesn't work. I need 4 hands. Never knew a 8.9 lb cat could have such a strong jaw. Thanks for the thought, though. Glad your guys are doing so well!
I was glad to find out that my cat will protest vociferously when picked up with her paws dangling in mid-air, thus allowing me to shove the dropper into her mouth and squirt liquid medicine down her throat. By the end of the week I had to give the med to her, she had stopped squalling, making it more difficult to medicate her.
Love hearing that Teddy and Rigatoni will be coming home soon!
Such a beautiful girl, Plei!! She's a stunner, all right.
My dad came up and spent the day with me--we watched football and went out to the local Uzbek restaurant. I'd been there once before (with ChiKat) and have been wanting to get back with one of the parents to see if they liked it as much as I did. Dad was very impressed, which was not surprising considering his love of beef and pickled veggies, especially beets which they had as an appetizer. I'm not a big beet fan, but they were very tasty. However, I prefer their carrots, served shredded with rice vinegar and other spices that made them spicy enough to clear out your sinuses but not so bad that they burned your mouth. I definitely want to go back there and try some of their entrees.
Yay for Teddy and Rigatoni recovering well! And matching zipper bellies! Do they have to wear funnels? I wonder if they'll try to lick each other's stitches.
In re: the Amazon marketplace thing. I made a couple of hundred bucks during my book clearing frenzy in the spring. I discovered that I needed to be careful with heavy books selling for less than 4 or so dollars. The shipping made it worthwhile for the lighter books but I lost a bit on the hardback cheapies. On the other hand, I sold a 12 year old textbook written by one of my professors for $40. And some other completely random things for much more than I expected to.
The more common, best seller types weren't so successful since the monstro-sellers undercut the price.
