That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

BBC redoing all the Shakespeare plays is like the WPA for actors -- you've got to keep them off the streets somehow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

the character spends forty some years passing as white

Which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that Anthony Hopkins is pretty fucking white.

I need to see more of these stories from a black point of view. All the black people I know who saw Devil In A Blue Dress were all "That's the reveal???"

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

This afternoon is never going to end, is it, even though I get to leave at 3:00.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I was in art school when The Crying Game was released. The reaction was similar.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

ita, what's the meeting about? Also, if you are up for it tomorrow, pop by for pie (sweet potato and apple) or turkey. we'll be here.

I am hungry right now. Unsurprisingly. But the turkey is sitting in its brine and I feel the need to go get more ice to ice the sucker down. Sigh. And maybe some mac and cheese and wine glasses.

People pictures.

Lee, you get to go home before I do, so I don't want to hear it from you.

I need to get applesauce on the way home. I'm not sure why I'm suddenly so addicted.

I'd say I'm sorry ita, but I'd be lying.

Want me to say it anyway?

Nothing remarkable, but nothing any of us can skip.

Thanks for the offer. I doubt I'll be up for it, though. The idea of me ritualising giving thanks puts a sour taste in my mouth right now. Just not that big a person.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're going to T-day dinner at the home of friends of G's mom. I don't know if we're supposed to bring anything.

Nope. I hear you. I just thought I'd offer. Frankly, I'd love to say, hey! let's got the apple pan instead and have a burger. But that could be a result of me being so fucking hungry that it's surreal.

Fun fact: In Britain families buying baby wipes also buy more beer.
