I'm going to be without internet access for at least two days.
I have an idea. Everyone take all the posts that you would have made over the next two days and make them now, along with an indication of when they would have been posted. Then I and others who are leaving can threadsuck and thus stay caught up in the thread.
I suspect there may be a flaw in this plan, but I'm intentionally ignoring that suspicion....
Future post Thursday around 11am:
First bottle of wine opened. mmm.... mushroom pate......

Yeah, if I post about stuff that hasn't happened yet, there could be a time paradox. I'm going to have to play it safe.
I just had a turkey lunch, so that can function as a Thursday post, since I have no plans for turkey tomorrow.
Does that help?
Oh! I do love a parade. I wonder if Santa will show up?
Houseguests just called to say they left late and don't expect to be here until 7 or 8pm. They had said FOUR. They were going to babysit while I took mr. flea out for dinner. For his birthday. I've already made dinner for them, and now they'll probably eat on the road.
Why can't everyone be as reliable as me? Grrrr.
I expect that thursday will be similar to many thanksgivings in the past -- so consider my posts predictive.
Thursday 4pm:
Wait ... dinner, but I've been eating since 11. mmm... gravy. More WIne!

Oh come on - it's safe and easy!

Post from Thursday 2:00 PM.
Wow, when I left Chicago yesterday I never dreamed I'd be kidnapped by genetically engineered intelligent wombats....
I mean, what are the odds of that
not
happening....
Wait, where was I?
Does that help?
Yes.
Unfortunately my posts for the next two days are probably going to be lamenting my state of health, so I'm not going to be able to add much to your plan, Tommy.
Sophia, what's wrong with explaining to your boss in excruciating detail just how hard/impossible it is to do exactly what they're asking in the time they're foreseeing? Proper feedback to managers helps them manage better.
Crap, now I'm totally unsure whether I should do the wombat genetic engineering I was planning to do tonight.
