This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

If skill at multiple choice tests had any relationship to life, I'd be living in a mansion with cabana boys.

AND you'd have picked the right ones!

Plei, I didn't mean the lost potential kids. I mean the kids who are either too stupid to live in the wild of real life or so stupid that you look at them and think, "Did you get labeled as gifted in kinder just because you drew an interesting picture?" There are plenty who do well on IQ type tests but still can't read and comprehend a paragraph of text. I dunno how, but it's true.

Laura, Grace has been sick and rehospitalized. Noah continues on his fat and happy ways.

Last night, I went to Fresh and Easy, which is owned by Tesco and has recently opened in my neighborhood (which lacks reputable grocery stores). It was FASCINATING. I felt like I was grocery shopping in New Zealand. One of the weirdest things? I could have bought a prepared Turkey, bacon wrapped with sage and cooked it at home.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

And I think that all of these kids are now going to my university and signing up for costume lab.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I think a lot depends on how a person gets socialized - I went to college with some truly smart people who weren't safe out without a keeper. And I think "success" - however you define it - depends largely on how you use what you have.

Toddson = Very Smart.

Totally agree with the whole post.

When I left the workmen at my place this morning, they were getting ready to do something with tar. Anybody know what? They are working on a bathroom.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Probably putting in the shower pan--the floor of the shower that is tiled over needs to have a specific slope as well as being waterproof. They usually cut it from sheet metal and stick the seams together.

Well, okay, I just tended to slack HARD instead of doing my work. And yet I tested highest of all the gifted kids in my gifted class.

This was me. (Except the part about gifted class. We didn't have that.) I tested through the roof but I was a super slacker. I used to joke that my epitaph would read, "Kristen is very bright but does not apply herself."

Yes, I was morbid even as a small child.

Wild. Labelled and coddled, maybe? Or possibly another intersection of gifted and learning disabled?

I'm trying to remember if I ever had to take an IQ test. I remember all sorts of standardized tests but I don't remember an actual IQ test.
