We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I never ever close my bathroom door (unless I have company). How else is the cat gonna go to the bathroom if it needs to? Or, you know, supervise while I shower?

Mine likes to come in and use the litter box while I'm similarly occupied. She rarely comes in while I'm showering, but has occasionally decided that the bath towel I set on the sink before getting into the shower makes a great sitting cushion and gives me dirty looks when I open the shower curtain and tell her to get off my towel. I then reach my arm over and let it drip on her until she moves.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I never close the bathroom door. Comes from living alone for 8 years, and a bathroom door that had swelled so that it didn't shut easily.

I'm apparently a freak--I usually close the door if I'm showering. I have no idea why.

These days I also close my bedroom door before I go to sleep. Because I bought a clock to put in the bathroom and the second hand is SO LOUD. It's crazy.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, what are you supposed to do, if you are on vacation and dont' know your CO detector is going off?

Turn the oven off before you go?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hmph. LJ and Gmail are both failing me.

I wish to report SOMEWHERE on the lavender jelly I made [link] Unusually for a recipe, and yes, I checked to make sure it was setting correctly, it made 6 half pint jars instead of 5. Tastes fairly good, and I'd suggest it with cheese on crackers. Next time (I have an ungodly amount of cooking lavender on hand--like, most of a pound of it), I think I'll double the amount of lavender in the tea and steep it slightly longer. My only modification this time was a dash of vanilla.

A+, would can with it again.

Note to all: do not put fingers in hot jelly to extract a dropped measuring cup. Just don't. I'm going to ice myself now.

Lavender jelly sounds interesting. I'm madly searching for a decent recipe for sweet potato pie.

In the fridge as I type is our 13 lb (it's so bitty!) turkey and some garnet yams are on the counter. sarameg is on the couch and I am exhausted.

Grace ended up going to a hospital this morning and she apparently has viral pneumonia. She's at UCLA's pediatric ICU again. Sigh.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I only close the door when i'm showering - to keep in the nice warmth! The rest of the flat is cooooooold in the morning. It's amazing how fascinated a cat can be with showering when he hates baths so very very much.

Kat, I'm so sorry Grace is sick and back in the ICU. I'm glad she's at UCLA, but I wish her road wasn't such a rocky one.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am so sorry, Kat. Health-ma to Grace.
