ita, I think you need a new specialist, and if you're not up to doing the calling around and finding out who's best and getting an appointment, I am sure one of us who is a telephonic force of nature would be willing to help out (I'm thinking along the lines of the force of Vortex or Allyson.) There have got to be better doctors out there. Or at least ones willing to return your calls and not make you have the ideas.

Funny you should say that. My current specialist is breaking up with me. He's referring me to someone else--I have no idea who and will probably just follow along meekly.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday ChiKat!
Sometimes my mother's forwards are worth passing on - Snowball the dancing cockatoo.
TAL lovers! I just listened to a totally entertaining podcast interview with Ira Glass! It's here: [link] (also on iTunes). I knew I had to pass it on when he analogized his reporting style to X-Files 'shippers. I am totally going to buy his book now.
Fun!
In fancy phone news, it turns out it's discontinued or whatever -- I went to the store and they said they haven't sold them in a couple of months. So I ordered it online for free! Plus $15 shipping. Eh.
Criminal Minds: HMOG!! I was afraid of something like that. I did love Garcia's like something like, "I do just fine... it just takes them a minute."
OK, I need a reality check. Installation went bad at 3. I ran my stuff that bore that out. They promised me an hour. I had an appointment to something completely frivolous, 6 weeks in the making (haircut.) When at 5, there was no resolution, I bailed. Had I not had the appt, I would have stuck around. I don't have home access. Should I have stuck around and not slopped the tests onto someone else?
Part of this angst is that this is the first install in my new position and I hated that I bailed. At the same time, if it weren't something frivolous, like I had kids to pick up or a parent to take to the doctor (a case this evening), it would be considered reasonable. But you know, it's my life and time too.
I think this is the first time I've really run into my expected uber-avail as a single person.
eta: it's apparent I want to be in the right. But I may not be.
I've been having conversations about this recently. If you have to go, you have to go, no matter what for. You planned accordingly -- thing at 3, an hour to deal, one more hour after that -- right?
ita, I hope the new specialist can actually help you.
