Oh Robin! At least it was decidedly not your fault. My dad destroyed their last water heater. See, he has a habit of slapping industrial magnets to it (I don't really know why. Convenient location as it is next to his workbench in the garage, I guess. But it doesn't explain the presence of the magnets.) Anyway, he was doing something and managed to knock one of them off. It sheared off the output spigot at the base. Completely. No way to turn it off. Spraying all over the garage.
He had to back the cars out and sweep the water out as it sprayed because the garage floor isn't really built as a drainage lot.
Despite the mess and expense, my mom laughed for a long time at that one.

And she's going on tour! She's actually playing about 100 meters from my old apt this summer. Thank god I moved because there would have been no escape besides perforating my own eardrums.
