Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I am thinking about a turkey sandwich. Or possibly a bowl of soup. I have an apple and a tangerine sitting on my desk, so I'm looking for salty, precious carbs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am stupidly excited about the Applebee's going in by my house. Stupid because I'll probably never go there. But maybe!

Dude, seriously. Mentally I am totally in bed watching MythBusters. I wish reality matched my brain.

SERIOUSLY.

I was thinking about sending my people and myself home early on Friday, because no one will be here, but now I think enough other people will be here that I can't without creating a stink.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Soup is an option too.

Really, I want a Jeeves to discern my needs and provide lunch without my having to do any work. And if he could bring me Sudafed too, that would be great.

Coding and Sleeping

Mentally I am totally in bed watching MythBusters.

I sent in an idea in June or July, can't remember for sure, and they are doing it for the upcoming Episode 93. I suspect it may be correlation rather than causation though.

That's very cool. Does it involve couch flipping?

information libertarian

I have this all the time. My department is in the next building or a bus ride away, depending on which location I'm in today. They're very good about sending out an email that says, hey, everyone, there are cupcakes, but are there ever any left...?

I think you need a cupcake buddy. Namely me. You call me when you get the cupcake email, and I go reserve you a cupcake. My modest fee will be one additional cupcake.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The NYT is doing a series of blogs about adoption. Interesting stuff.

Man. I am FREEZING. I know it will be over 80 degrees today, but right now, I am so cold I can barely concentrate. Or you know, I'm distracted by life and can barely concentrate.
