Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I have more good news! I finally sent my resume to that fantastic job and my aunt called ---her boss is going to call me tomorrow about setting up an interview!!!

So please jobma.

Also my Big Boss and Coworker went to lunch and when they came back they had a Baby Powder scented candle for me as a Auntie gift. Which I thought was cute and very thoughtful.

job~ma to askye~~~

Just discovered that my mother had heard and believed a version of the "Obama is a stealth Muslim" rumors. I debunked them, but it bugs me that she gave any credence to the idea in the first place.

Our wings are not tired.

Job ~ma askye! Fantastic job would be a most excellent start for the new year.

I fear the nasty rumor mongering on all sides will start up in full force soon. People don't take the time and effort to fact check so these methods are successful. It may be necessary to watch all television on delay until November to avoid the negative ads. Ugh.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

was the Asshat in pretty good behavior?

I think he was trying very hard, but he did (though I tried to avoid it) hug me, follow me and Dennis from room to room, and stare at Mom and me.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Timelies!

Today I went for a 5 mile run. I haven't exercised in 2 weeks, so I finally got off my lazy butt. Helped by the fuel belt I got from my sister, and only mildly hindered by the rain. Although I was soaked by the end. Still slower than I'd like to be. Will need to start using the machines at the gym.

I had a very fun time yesterday chez Sox. Also, I got to use sidewalk chalk! And eat nummy food! And sleep in until noon today!

askye, great news on the auntie-hood and potential new job front!

((Laura and family))

Job~ma for askye.

t first-world woe

So I am stuck in the Tucson airport. There's nothing here, including wifi. My phone is dying (though I have found the only outlet in the gate area, I think) and my family is twenty miles away having a delicious dinner without me. There was a hydraulic leak in the plane that's still in El Paso, so our 6:10 departure has now become a 11:00 departure. My family can't come get me in case anything changes, so I'm stuck here with one dodgy "restaurant" and a gift shop. ND and I were supposed to do our Christmas tonight, but I'm going to get in between 11 and midnight now, so it's not looking good. I only have two TV eps to watch and no wifi to download more! And I'm lonely and bored. And I kneeled in nasty wet airport carpet by accident, and now my jeans are all clammy and gross on my knees.

t /first world woe

On the upside, Express Jet has really impressed me. They gave us a $100 flight voucher and a $10 food voucher right after they announced the delay.

t fidget Ready to be home, now.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sorry you are stuck in an airport, Kristin. Hope things get moving quickly, and you find something decent for a meal.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Job~ma, askye

Get-home~ma, Kristin

Go you, d! 5 miles, woo!

Had a nice dinner with the folks yesterday. Mom made a down-home vegan meal - sweet potatoes, mustard&turnip greens, dirty rice with Louisiana-style gluten sausage, all yum. Followed by an apple crisp that mom said was more of a slump, so we got to discuss dessert naming conventions, which was fun.

I gave them a Harmony Logitech 650 remote, so after dinner I helped dad set it up with their system, which previously required up to 4 remotes to operate. Pretty cool when we got it all ironed out and working like he wants it to, and I think my mom will also appreciate the simplicity once she gets an opportunity to try it out.
