ION, I have the afternoon off today, AIFG. And I didn't take leave. And they told us about it a week ago, not this afternoon. And we didn't have to leave anyone behind to keep the library open, because the library is CLOSED. Happy now.

This is from way earlier. Sadly fine German engineering won out over Hybrid technology. The good news is that I did purchase the model that is the last year they made the C230 with the supercharged I4 engine instead of the V6, so I get almost the same power as the V6, but I will still see just over 30 MPG in the car, which is the same as why I had in the Escape.

Hil, fwiw, I'm really quite enjoying OKCupid. In an enjoying-reading-people's-profiles-and-thinking-'bless'-quite-a-lot sort of way. And I've found several really very nice people, actually. So MM needs to get on with building the Matter Transporter, rather than trying to OMGBurnTheHouseDown!!!!

Chez Jay, we have already eaten Christmas dinner. In a break from tradition, we had it on Christmas Eve; tomorrow we will have leftovers microwaved, and it will be just as yummy but less stressful for Mum. (As tomorrow will also involve a trip to Nana's house, round the corner, and as she is now incapacitated to the point that Mum will be spoon-feeding her mushed up turkey. In breaking news: Old Age Sucks.)

Meanwhile, rather than bringing up the '...so, I have a tattoo' issue thusly, I have made a point of wearing tops which 'inadvertently' reveal said tattoo. Er.

My mother thus far has made no comment. Which I'm good with - it's probably the most ideal and quintessentially British way of dealing with it, and means that I don't feel like I'm being Queen Decepto of the Lying People, but also we don't have to Have A Scene.
