I have paid the $9.99 to get internet from my laptop in this terminal in order to take advantage of the video iPod I inherited from ND when he got a shiner one for himself. I'm going to download a couple of TV shows to watch on the plane. Whee!
(If they download fast enough, given the glacial speed of this wi-fi.)
That would be one other reason to get the Kindle (to bring a discussion from Tech over here)--if you run out of books on it, if you're still in the airport, you could download more, right?
Yes and yes. And I really do think I want one.
Since this is the last day, Happy Saturnalia everyone.
I love Chihuahua cheese.
Yeah, but they're a bitch to milk...
Oh, BLAH. I'm sitting here crying and feeling like a total stupid ass. I just got my phone back this afternoon from my mom (I left it at her place last Sunday, and with the new job and the commute and her retail job running until 8 or 9 most nights this week there wasn't a chance to get it back before today), and it had three messages on it from Friday afternoon. The pediatric surgery office at my old job had a party Friday evening and wanted me to come and left two messages to say so, and then at 5:30 my old boss called to say how much he hoped I'd be there.
I miss him so much. It totally feels like I've broken up with my dad, and now I'm all sinus headachey and heartbroken.
{{{JZ}}} I'm sorry you're having a hard time adjusting and that you missed the party. You are neither stupid or an ass. You're just busy and tired and understandably frazzled at the moment.
{{{JZ}}}
Next week you can send him an email and let him know you didn't have the phone and would've stopped by if you'd known about it, and I'm sure there will be no hard feelings at all.
I was just looking thorugh my Mom's Chicago '79 photos. Really amazing, entire trees wrapped in ice.
My brother once sent me email pics from an ice storm in Switzerland. They were so bizarre, but beautiful. I felt really sorry for some of the car owners, though.
California cheese
I also like Rouge et Noir cheese. I used to go out to The Cheese Factory (where they make it), and take the tour and hang out by the duck pond. Recently, I bought some cheese from Point Reyes for a party, and that turned out to be a mistake. The small store where I bought it listed brief descriptions, including that various cheeses were "pungent". They didn't say that about Red Hawk. OMG, it made the whole room stink. My backpack stunk from carrying it in to work. I don't say that it's not good, but it was more impressive than I was going for!
