We have to see the chimp playing hockey! That's hilarious! The ice is so slippery, and, and monkeys are all irrational. We have to see this!

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Susan, that was just beautiful.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I guess I'm sort of like Susan. I'm a Hindu agnostic.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Or, as I sometimes explain it, I have the faith of Puddleglum--I try to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there is no Narnia, and I'm on Aslan's side even if there is no Aslan to lead it.

Hearting this.

The wide universe is the ocean I travel, and the earth is my blue boat home

Susan, that was just beautiful.

Well, the confusion is all mine--the elegant wording thereof I stole from CS Lewis.

Ha! Well, Lewis is a pretty good writer to crib from.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

A waaaay back, the question was posed:

Did you all love the feel of corsets from the first time you wore one?

Just chiming in to say yes, yes, a thousand times yes, but that's because I had a knowledgeable friend with me to help me put it on, cinch it correctly, etc. Putting a corset on incorrectly is very uncomfortable and crazy-making, so I would say that before your friend gives up on her dress completely, she should try to find someone who isn't a wedding dress fitter but rather a wearer of corsets to try it on with her.

Jen!

How's your friend, did she come out of surgery OK?

Nora!

Thanks for asking about my friend. She's doing OK--she came out of surgery and spent a few days in the SICU, but is now in a step-down unit. She's breathing on her own, one of her chest tubes came out, and she's even been eating a bit. It's going to be a long, long recovery, but they expect it to be complete.

I'm glad that things will be OK. (even though it will be tough for a while) I'll keep her in my thoughts!
