Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, Cashmere. I certainly understand not ALWAYS coming first. Once, however, would be nice and novel and assure me he gave a rat's ass.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

There is, actually, a Skyline in my neighborhood, which probably isn't too far from where Cashmere is right now. Unfortunately, it's cold and dark and (knock wood) she gets to leave tomorrow and go home to her babies.

The weather sucked, but it was lovely to see everyone.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ray Cole on The Wire had the Pogues. Something with "American"in the title. That was a beautiful moment.

"The Body of An American" - another great song for a wake.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm still secretly hoping for a viking funeral if they can pull if off, though.

In a moment of group insanity during a dinner with DH, his brothers, and our SIL, we came up with a new fundraiser for the University of Oklahoma (alma mater of most of the family)--put in a crematorium on the edge of campus, and a columbarium in the end zone, so the true OU fan can support the Sooners for all eternity. The ashes would be conveyed to their final resting place in the Sooner Schooner.

We started brainstorming how other universities could handle this, and the idea we came up with for UW, given Seattle's Scandinavian heritage, was Viking funerals on Lake Washington, within sight of Husky Stadium.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I could try to hit it on the way to the airport, but it's unlikely. I'll be catching the train from Shaker Square and I'll leave early--probably spending too many hours at the airport for my own comfort.

The weather sucked, but it was lovely to see everyone.

The weather sucked. The company DID NOT suck. Deena, I have a question for you that I'll email you soon.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We buried our Irish Wolfhound's ashes under a bush and it thrived.

You mean the bush, right?

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I wonder if the people who live in our old house now have any idea that both yards are the cemetaries for three dogs, three hamsters and assorted gerbils.
There are, along with a variety of cats and dogs, two horses buried in front of my old house.

In less morbid news, I need advice. I am utterly exhausted and would really like to go to sleep. I had planned to try to grade ten more essays, and I suppose if I really focused and pushed through, I could do that. I don't have to get up early; I'm not going into school until late morning since I'm not giving any exams tomorrow. If I do try to push through, though, I'm a little worried that 1) the quality of my grading will suffer and 2) I'll wake up and be insomnia girl for the remainder of the night (which would obviously suck). I've been up and working steadily since six this morning, and I'm pretty wiped. If I don't push through, though, I'm going to have to be a grading demon tomorrow to make up for it. Since I don't have anything else to do but grade tomorrow, that might be the better option. Then again, on Wednesday morning, I get 58 final exams to add to the ever-growing pile, so I'm really screwed if I don't finish at least 20 (preferably 25) of these suckers tomorrow. Then again again, my grades aren't due until after winter break, so the pressure to finish all this crap by Friday is purely of my own making. Then again again again, I really don't want a crapload of grading to do over the break.

Clearly, I have issues. Welcome to my brain.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

We also all ate some of his ashes.

At least you didn't snort them. My BFF wants to be cremated, and have some of her ashes put into the punch, then have everyone do a toast with the punch. I told her that I am not eating or drinking anything at her funeral that did not come out of a sealed package.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Kristen, go to sleep. You'll do a better (and faster) job of grading after you've slept.

Heh. Yeah, I would do the same, in your shoes.

I think I have decided that I need to sleep.

x-post: Thanks, aurelia. Great minds, and all.
