I'm not sure, but it sounds like maybe your stitches might be too tight?

o_a, did you put the scarf down in the middle of a row at one point? If you were only a few rows in, it may be possible that you twisted the knitting.

My memories of pulic school seem to indicate that creationism had no place in the public school system, at least not before 1987. Why do you think that was?

I went to Catholic schools and they didn't teach creationism. Apparently a newfangled notion.

I've lived a few places, but all along the east coast. Never had an issue with meeting people, but I can be pretty forward about that stuff. The hardest place was Richmond. It was a pretty closed society so I only got close to people on campus.

I decided the whole no carb thing just doesn't work for me. I miss my oatmeal and fruit. So I had a banana and oatmeal this morning, and tea. Whee!

Tom, my cousin L, and I were discussing the whole concept of the viewing/wake. Tom opined that it seemed scientifically calculated to cause the maximum amount of pain to spouses or children of the deceased, having to sit next to your loved one's corpse for hours and having to comfort others. YMMV, of course. And my aunt and cousins bore up well but... still. Wow.

{{S and Sean}} I hope she gets sprung from the ER soon. I'm glad you've got your family there too.

I think I prefer viewing the corpse. It's so very obvious that the person isn't there anymore, at all, when you do. Whereas when you don't, the goneness is a more abstract idea, which makes it a bit harder to process, I think.

Did people get hammered with snow? It's chilly here this morning, kinda nice.

Doing pretty well this morning- off for the funeral stuff shortly.

I guess Boston got hammered- it was less snowy here, but still pretty messy.

A tiny petty part of me is hoping Boston gets totally hammered and flights are cancelled and DH won't be able to go home for Christmas, and he'll have to stay here with me. I am a bad person.

Knitting getting twisty like that is very likely because the stitches are too tight. It takes some practice before you figure out the right yarn tension.
