There is a Santa Pub Crawl going on in my nabe right now. The corner is PACKED with "Santa"s. It's kind of hilarious.

Suzi, how goes the cookie baking? ELlie and I made sugar cookies today. Now I remember why I make them once every 2-3 years. Very yummy but they take so damn long! (And Ellie is once again covered in flour.)

Anyone bored want to help me search for the perfect blue and orange large print no floral fabric for a quilt for my brother? I'm coming up so empty!

Funny you ask. I needed a break from the kids - two teenage girls and K-Bug's gf.

One batch of ginger cookies done with another baking. Sugar cookies are in the fridge waiting to be rolled out. The shortbreads got dumped cause the recipe sucked. The kids are putting together the dough for the peanut butter/kiss cookies.

I'm maxed. DH is being a lump, the teens aren't letting CJ help, and with all of them, there really isn't anything for him to do, so he is just kicking around all moppy. Mom isn't feeling well - she is hungry, but nothing is sitting well. She wouldn't take help when I was available to give help, but now that I'm neck deep in cookie making - she wants this and that.

A friend let me borrow the first three seasons of West Wing, AIFG! I just watched the first season ep with CJ (not Suzi's CJ) doing 'The Jackal', which was awesome.

I'm a mess. Sitting down and trying to chill made me realize that next year will be totally different. K-Bug will be off at school and her friends will be scattered to the wind. Now I'm ready to cry. Blah.

Sorry. The soup is almost done simmering, so we'll be eating soon, and then I am supposed to be organizing and wrapping Christmas gifts. I'll e-mail you later if I need a break.

Not sure if it'll help, but just think about all of the new friends that K-Bug's going to make! And K-Bug is fabulous enough of a person to know that I'm sure she'll stay in touch with the high school friends that are important to her.

You're a great mom. You've raised a wonderful daughter. She may be growing wings, but she'll always have her feet on solid ground because of you.

She'll fly, but she'll always come "home".
